Play 1 pair wont connect to beam and One SL wont

I have a beam, sub and One SLs setup as surround in my living room. I recently bought two used Play 1’s and it won’t connect as surround. It recognized them but will not connect toy current setup. How do I get them to pair into my existing surround setup?

You cannot connect more than 2 speakers for surround.

Indeed, you would need to set them up as another room, as a stereo pair, or two mono rooms.

When that additional ‘room’ is grouped with your Beam’s ‘room’, there will be a slight delay when playing the TV’s input. When streaming music, all rooms will be in sync.

If you want to use the Play:1’s instead of the SL’s you need to use the Remove Surrounds option in the app, and then you can connect the P:1’s.
