Amazing that Sonos tech support has no clue how to tune the system since the new app was released with a bug that causes it to freeze when you hit Continue to start the tones. Here’s what works until they get around to fixing it which should have been found BEFORE releasing the “upgrade”. Change the source to a music app from your TV. I used Spotify. While a song is playing go to the Tuning and launch it to retune. When you rotate the phone (using latest iOS here) this time when you hit Continue it should work. Rebooting phone as Sonos is telling everyone is a waste of time. Hope this helps!
