Using Sonos Arc, Hisense U8 TV, 2 play1’s in surround speaker mode. I have Sonos HDMI 2.1 cable to TV earc. I have ARC enabled in Hisense and CEC. In audio out in Hisense, I do not get sound from my 2 play1 surround speakers in audio out passthrough or Dolby Digital. With passthrough marked Sonos app says Stereo. In Dolby Digital checked, Sonos app does say Dolby Digital plus but no sound from surround speakers. In auto out with Auto marked, I get sound from surround speakers but Sonos App says Dolby Digital multichannel 2.0. Any suggestions?

I am replying to my own question/thread, because I found the answer. Hope this helps others.
Do not turn on eARC on TV Sound. Keep it off. Only turn EARC on TV Sound if running DVD or other device similar. For all streaming keep eARC off.
Digital Audio Output: Pass Through off
Digital Format: Auto
HDMI 1 Format: Enhanced Format
I now get Dolby Digital Plus 2.0, Dolby Digital Plus 5.1, Dolby Atmos...depending on source viewing verified through the Sonos App now playing section! Seems to no longer shows up under Sonos System Info under Audio-In.
These setting may be unique to my set up though. Good luck.
