Hi everyone, I’m hoping someone can clarify the connectivity/usage of the Era 100s for my specific setup before I buy them.
I currently have a Sonos Beam Gen 2 and I’m considering buying 2 × Era 100s as surrounds.
My main question is about what happens when I want to use the system for music rather than TV.
My ideal setup/use case is:
- TV: Beam Gen 2 + 2 × Era 100s working together as a normal surround setup.
- iPhone: I’d like to play music from my iPhone and have the Beam + both Era 100s play together.
- Turntable: I have an Audio-Technica AT-LP60XBT, and I’d like to connect it via Bluetooth and have the Beam + both Era 100s play the turntable audio together.
- Ideally, I don’t want to repeatedly remove/unpair the Era 100s as surrounds just to listen to music.
So, specifically:
- If the 2 × Era 100s are permanently configured as surrounds with the Beam, can I still use an Era 100’s Bluetooth input and have the Bluetooth audio play through all three speakers?
- Can the same setup work with my AT-LP60XBT via Bluetooth?
- Can I easily switch between TV → iPhone music → turntable without having to reconfigure the surround speakers each time?
- Are there any limitations with Bluetooth when the Era 100s are being used as surrounds?
- If this isn’t possible via Bluetooth, what would be the simplest way to achieve this while keeping the Era 100s permanently configured as surrounds?
Thanks!
