When plugging i thru optical cable hear no sound from Ray.

Make sure there are no caps on the ends of the optical cable.  Make sure optical output is turned on in the TV settings.

Yes caps off tv shows optical sound fluctuating but no sound out of ray.

Is the light on the Ray white or green?

(also optical cables need a firmer push than you’d think, within reason, so that it clicks in place, and must be 100% lined up when pushing them in as they can only go in one way.)

No light on ray. Music plays thru sonus app on phone.

Have tried all that pushed home firm and hard. Can I use different cable method eg USB to optical .

Do you have a CD player or other optical output device you could try as an input to the Ray?

No sadly .bit stuck here sound comes out from tv speakers and headphones just not optical setting although shows sound on tv moving.

Maybe if you give us the TV model someone will have a suggestion.

Samsung 55 inch oled tv been looking at sound settings . Even tried new optical lead.

Which model tv? 55 inch is a size; oled is a screen display technology.

It’s more likely to be a speaker setting than sound.

Also make sure you’ve set TV Autoplay, or else selected tv as the source for the room.

Yes been looking at speaker settings don't know what to try and change under expert settings.

Yes sais should recognise sonus and switch to optical automatic.

Yes sais should recognise sonus and switch to optical automatic.

From that statement I presume that’s not happening? What if you set it manually, as described?

Not sure if tv output being recognised by sonus when tv speaker and headphones are fine. Thinking new install.

The Home Screen for the room will show you what input is playing.

Headphones probably disables any other speaker. Make sure they’re not connected.

And again, what happens if you do the manual setting process described in the manual?

Yes no red light on optical cable connected to tv. 3rd cable not sure how to test

Will ring samsung tomorrow to see if it's tv.

Ahh - optical. You’re sure you’ve removed the end caps on the cable(s)? Is it possible one has got stuck in the connector socket  on tv or on the Ray?

Have you set sound output to be “optical”?

Yes all removed and setting correct just no tv sound optical.to sonus ray. Madness.
