I'm trying to set up a new sonos system and adding a ray to it. It finds the ray just fin and connects to it. But when I need it to connect to my wifi it fails. Have two wifi networks non of them working. And the same when trying to connect it via the Ethernet cable after the 3 failed attempt.

Even more strange if I connect it via Ethernet before powering it on then when getting to the wifi setup it can't find any networks. If I enter the network name my self it still fails amd doesn't even give me the chance to use the Ethernet

Why do you have two WIFI networks? This can cause issues when using Sonos speakers.

The Ray is only compatible with the S2 app and looking at your profile, you have speakers that are only compatible with the S1 app, like the Play 5 and possibly the Connect if it's NOT the S15 model.

You will NEED to use the S2 app in order to use the Ray, so that would mean upgrading the speakers that can be used on the S2 app like the Playbar and Play 1s.

I an using the s2 app, this is a new setup at a new location. I don't hope that sonos does not work if there is more than one wifi I range.

Did the Ray need an update after it connected? Did you have and errors like “error 1000” when setting it up?

No error 1000. And don't know if it needs an update, my guess is that it does that after connecting to the network

I took it to a friend that has an iphone an connected it his system. That was successful and the unit was updated. Still can't connect it to my wifi through the Android app.

I tried it on another android phone running android 14, that worked. Instead of mine on Android 15. The version of the software is

Version 80.12.04-release+20241114.cfc873c
