Beam2 poor sound quality

My first  Beam2 worked beautifully until after 10 months it would no longer connect to the network.  It was replaced in record time but the new one does not sound a good as the old.  It seems to have resonant peaks which affect the clarity of some sounds mainly speech.  I tried to use the Trueplay function on my iPhone to level the frequency response but that no longer works.  Any ideas please?

As it was a replacement I’d call Sonos Support.
