I have a TCL 55c745k TV and just purchased a beam 2. I am unable to get the soundbar to output to Atmos with Disney plus or 4k blu rays?

My Xbox series x shows that without the soundbar, it can process Atmos, but with It plugged into the EARC with HDMI 2.1  cable, it says I can't output it anymore.

Please can someone help me with this, otherwise I may just sell it and find another way to output atmos

Did you try the Sonos HDMI cable that came with the Beam?

Make sure the TV is set to these settings:

Enable eARC Mode

Digital Audio Out: Pass Through

For Atmos content on the Xbox, HDMI Audio should be set to Dolby Atmos for home theater. Enable Allow passthrough.

Yeah I've tried all of this, doesn't seem to work

How exactly are you streaming Disney+? What specific 4K Blu-ray titles have you tested?

With Disney plus, I've streamed from my phone. Blu ray titles only 1, blazing saddles.

Streaming from your phone is only available via Bluetooth or Airplay, which means stereo only.  You must stream from an Atmos capable source connected to the TV (TV app, streaming device) in order to get Atmos.  As for Blazing Saddles on Blu-Ray, only the Ultra HD version has Atmos.

Fair play on Disney but that still doesn't answer the uhd blazing saddles. Quite frustrating as only reason I got the sound bar was for Atmos 😅

When you play the Blazing Saddles 4K Blu-ray in the Xbox, what audio format is displayed on the Now Playing screen in the Sonos app?

I play it out of my Panasonic DP ub820, Sonos app says Dolby 5.1

Set the Digital Audio Output settings on the UB820 to this:

  • Dolby Audio: Bitstream
  • DTS/DTS-HD: PCM
  • Secondary Audio: Off

And set Dynamic Range Compression to Off.

Sonos plays what it is sent. If you want Atmos, you need to send it, and everything in between must allow it through. This is not as simple as RCA red/white cable audio was in days past.
