Until yesterday I enjoyed listening music in dolby atmos by streaming Apple Music via the Sonos app to my era 300 stereo pair. Today my arc ultra and sub 4 arrived; I created one system with the era 300 pair as surrounds. Strangely enough The dolby atmos badge no longer appears when I stream music from Apple Music via the Sonos app. The spatial music flag is enabled, so I don’t understand why Dolby atmos isn’t working anymore. Any suggestions?
thanks!

Is “Spacial Music” on in the Room settings?
Yep, that’s on. I even tried switching it on and off a few times, but no change.
In the iPhone Settings - Music is this setting on? Not sure that would apply to the Apple Music app in the Sonos app.
That’s also on
Same for me. Impossible to listen Dolby Atmos thru apple service thru Sonos S2 apps. even with setup always on. I switch from Sonos ace + 2 eras 100 + 1 sub to Sonos arc ultra + 2 eras 100 +1 sub, Dolby atmos ok with Sonos arc, Ko with Sonos arc ultra !!!
I’ve got an Apple TV where I have Apple Music connected to the arc ultra. Dolby Atmos OK with TV HDMI + Apple TV + Apple Music with Dolby Atmos songs. But KO if I listen same songs from the apps Sonos with Apple Music. Grrrrrrrr
The Apple Music app settings don’t have any impact when playing from the Sonos app.
If you remove surrounds/sub from Arc Ultra, do you see the Dolby Atmos badge when playing to Arc Ultra as stand-alone device?
If yes, then add surrounds and see if it’s still available, then add Sub again.
I’m not sure what’s going on. I have the system Arc-Sub3-300s and I see the Dolby Atmos logo though it’s smaller than it used to be.
OK… now I see an issue. I have several Atmos playlists in Apple Music. I just started one and the first track reported itself as Lossless. Then I opened the queue and started another track which reported itself as Dolby Atmos. After that I went back to the first track which then reported itself as Dolby Atmos. I think the new app update screwed up how track formats are read.
So, I’ve just remove sub and the 2 eras 100 as requested, my arc ultra is standalone and no Dolby atmos…

Is any audio badge visible in the Sonos app?
I no longer use Apple Music, so can’t try this myself, however, with Amazon Music after any room configuration change, the audio stream recalibrates itself, which can take a couple of minutes, so let a couple of tracks play to see if the Dolby Atmos badge eventually appears.
No, no logo… nothing at the right side. It’s strange because same Dolby atmos song thru Apple Music from Apple TV and I’ve got the logo Dolby atmos…
I have the same issue. I just setup my new Arc Ultra and I do not get Atmos music from Apple Music. I have a standard Arc in another room and it plays Atmos Music from Apple Music without an Issue.
I have the same issue. I activated a trial of Amazon Music to see if Dolby Atmos worked there and sure enough it does. Switching back to Apple Music though, still nothing. No icon for lossless or Atmos like I saw on my old Arc setup.
It’s indeed the arc ultra that doesn’t support Dolby atmos. Removing subs and surrounds and still no Dolby atmos badge. If I then stream to one of the era 300 alone in the same room, the Dolby atmos badge is immediately appears. If I select the arc ultra then as second device, it disappears again. Is this a software issue that will be solved soon with a system update?

The Arc Ultra supports Dolby Atmos audio. This is likely a software issue from a new product that will hopefully be addressed in the near future with an update.
One more bug !!!
Hello @Hi-Pi and everyone!
First, let me say I’m sorry that you are having trouble playing Dolby Atmos content on your new Sonos Arc Ultra.
I brought this information internally for investigation and I would like to ask you to Submit Diagnostics while trying to play Dolby Atmos content on your Sonos Arc Ultra and share them to me on a private message via our Community.
Please do not share the numbers in a reply here on the thread, as they are considered private information and will be removed.
Thank you in advance and I’ll reply on this thread as soon as I have an update for you.
My problem is solved. No change in settings, just tried it again a day later and arc ultra played in Dolby Atmos. Added the surrounds and sub again and now I’m enjoying surround sound…Woooow! thanks for all the tips!
Agree. The problem is now solved. Missing setup at corp level?
Application must be much more stable
Same for me. Just set up Ultra, no Dolby Atmos in any movie. Inexcusable, especially with all of their recent problems. This launch had to be perfect. Going to try suggestions here and if it doesn’t work tonight, it’s going back tomorrow.

I don’t have an Arc Ultra, but I do have the system Arc-Sub3-300s. Lately when I start one of my Apple Music Atmos playlists something weird happens. I’ll start the Atmos playlist at which point the stream for the first track is reported as Lossless. At that point I open the queue, scroll down a bit and choose another track. Now the stream is reported as Dolby Atmos. Next I scroll back up to the first track that was reported as Lossless. Starting that first track again now reports it as Dolby Atmos.
Makes me wonder if the same thing would happen with a movie. Maybe the stream is Dolby Atmos, but not showing as such. Movies are not a series of tracks so that incorrect format report might stick for the entire movie.
Have not tried the Apple Music Atmos playlist test, as described above, since the last app & firmware updates. Will try tomorrow. Tonight is Thursday Night Football.
@MoPac
Good idea… but I saw that behavior only on Apple Music. Not on Amazon Music and never on a movie delivering Atmos sound via hdmi eARC.

I’m sorry, I thought it was about Dolby Atmos not working on the new Arc Ultra. Does it matter what the source is? Obviously the problem is the Arc Ultra and it’s ability to decode Dolby Atmos properly.
As, apparently, many people are discovering, they just purchased a $1000 Dolby Atmos sound bar that doesn’t do Dolby Atmos.
