Having the same issue here in Australia.
have the Samsung 77 90D with Apple TV and Ps5
not using the internal Samsung apps.
things I have tried.
using the Sonos HDMi cable provided (audio drop outs)
replaced all my HDMi cables with 8K high speed
(audio drops out)
trying with Atmos eARC setting to off.
so far no drops BUT….
the sound seems lower quality now.
interstellar has been my test film and audio.
going to do more research on eARC setting in the Samsung…
this is frustrating after spending so much money and time of this….
Since yesterday I unplugged all HDMI cables from my TV except the Arc Ultra via eArc. I do not experience those dropouts anymore. During my research for the cause of those dropouts I am watching content via the integrated Samsung TV apps. Can you try the same approach and check if those dropouts also disappear?
Hi I tried this and no dropouts once any other hdmi were disconnected
Looks
Like a communication issue with the arc ultra and other inputs
Netflix which is installed on my Samsung TV has no dropouts
Glad to hear that. But tbh this can not be a long-term solution. I want to use my PS5 and my Nvidia Shield as well via the other HDMI ports.
Absolutely you are right I do use the hdmi for other inputs blu ray , firestick . I have added hdmi for the firestick back . I am going to try it again to see if the drop out problem comes back .
I may try a few other hdmi cables if the problem persists to see if changing the cable works .
If not I think we should raise this issue with Sonos and hope they provide a firmware update which resolves the issue
Just checking in to confirm the CEC splitters solution: i was also having split-second dropouts every minute or so, with eARC and Pass-Through enabled. Managed to debug my problem and it only happened when I had other HDMI devices connected, everything was having audio dropouts - both HDMI devices and internal apps. Without any devices connected, the sound from internal apps was perfect. After searching for solutions, I tried a certified ultra high speed cable, however it didn't solve the problem. When I got to this thread about CEC problems, it clicked: as disabling CEC was not an option because my TV would not recognize the Sonos Arc Ultra, I ordered CEC strippers for my HDMI inputs and so far the problem is gone, no more dropouts.
Hi
With you saying I presume when you added the cec strippers to your other hdmi inputs you are able to use the Samsung remote to control these other devices which are connected to your Samsung TV ?
I only ask as I have the same issue and have yet to try the cec strippers
Thanks
Just for info, and maybe it helps
Samsung updates their firmware from time to time, the challenge is that if you search for updates on the TV it says there are none but there are. The update can be downloaded from Samsung's website and downloaded to a USB and then update your TV.
Have experienced this several times now.
I have a S90C myself and have not experienced any challenges.

thanks for the hint. actually I have the most current version. just checked it manually.
So I saw on Reddit they recommended swapping cables I bought this one on Amazon and I haven't had any cutouts since.
Monoprice 8K Certified Ultra High Speed HDMI 2.1 Cable - 8K@60Hz, 48Gbps, CL2 In-Wall Rated, 30AWG, Dynamic HDR and Dolby Vision, Supports eARC
I have a s90c for reference
Same issue over here. Samsung QN90C. Latest AppleTV 4K. Arc Ultra. I am testing changing HDMI-eARC from auto to off.
Hey,
I was the one who had previously suggested switching the ER setting to off from auto. For me this fix the dropouts, and Atmos content still played fine, but Dolby 5.1 content just gets down mixed to stereo.
I have also tried new HDMI 2.1 cables, and I still get the dropouts
i for the CEC strippers but then I couldn’t adjust volume and power from the Apple TV remote. And I’ll double check but I feel like I still got drop outs.
can anyone else confirm if the HDMI CEC strippers have and still work?
rhis sucks!

For clarity, when you switch eARC from auto to off - there are no more drop outs but virtually everything except Atmos gets down mixed to Stereo PCM? I have had this exact same experience.
Something else that is interesting is I tried the Arc Ultra on my older Samsung (2020) and i don’t get any drop outs from the built in apps or AppleTV 4K but I do get them with a PS5. If I replace the Arc Ultra with an Arc - zero issues.
to me, this clearly means the Arc Ultra is causing the issue

hello,
Yes that is correct. And I fo think it is the Ultra as well. .
I just checked and put those CEC strippers on the 2 inputs I want to use (Apple TV and Onn pro streamer). This stopped the DROPOUTS!!
But then Apple TV remote wouldn’t do sound or power for the tv. But I took the stripper off the Apple TV input and the remote works for sounded and power! I left the CEC strippers on the cable input for the Onn.
so I think I may have found a solution!! I got the CEC strippers off Amazon.

I have your exact set up and the thing that resolved the drop outs was to unplug the Samsung Q90D from power and leave it for 30 seconds. When I plugged back in I’ve had no issues since. Been enjoying my Arc Ultra for over a week without issue.

I’ve tried this. Doesn’t help me
I posted before that the cable fixed mine, I was wrong it didn't. Sorry for misleading anyone. However turning off earc did work but obviously that's not ideal..

same boat
I just tried a CEC stripper. No change. Drop outs still persist
Grrr. I saw that post about disconne ting power cord and tried it. Now I am in a worse spot than ever. Now even if I only have one thing plugged into, I am getting dropouts. This never happened before.
going to try using CEC strippers and just posing ability to control volume and power with Apple TV remote.
but what is going on here? It was working fine with two things plugged into and the stripper on the second device. No drop outs and I could still use Apple TV remote to turn on tv and adjust volume. No more.
I am sad. I will have to turn eARC Zoff and have all 5.1 stuff go to stereo if these strippers don’t work.
sonos really needs to get their dhot together. I haven’t reached out to them yet cause I figured they’d just blame robl on the TV, but has anyone else reached out lately?
I’ve been getting the same issues - and just found this forum !
I do hope Sonos can provide a firmware fix for this.
Well I unplugged TV again and then held down remote power button after leaving unplugged for a minute and plugging power back in. Now not getting dropped round issue.
I think it’s just temperamental but I’m not plugging or unplugging anything!
also I’ll add that I read about the information on the new Sonos media streamer and it looks like it will have HDMI inputs and part of the reason they are making. It is to deal with some of the weird sound issues. You’ll also be able to add Sonos speakers to your front left and right for a proper set up instead of just the sound bar at the front. here’s hoping it turns out well.!
Anyone still getting the issue after the newest update? After the new sonos update I haven’t had anymore drop outs as far as I can tell.
Interesting. I thought it had to do with my power off and on. Weird if that happened to be a coincidence.
im still afraid that if I mess with anything it’s going to go back to being messed up.
qell see!
