I have recently set up a playbar, when I use the TVs remote to increase or decrease the volume the TVs displays "TVs volume is fixed"
Any ideas how to get rid of it? TV is a Sony 46W 905A
Thank you
Martin

Thanks for letting us know Martin, we hope you're enjoying your Sonos system.

Would be nice to be told how it was fixed.

I have found the solution: If you change the "Audio Out" setting on the TV from "Fixed" to "Variable", this should allow you to change the volume using the TV's remote control on the external audio system.

Press [home], goto Settings > Headphone/Audio Out > Audio Out > Variable

I will try that tonight. The "fixed" message was getting on my nerves too.

Martin, thanks for this. This message had annoyed me but could not see a way to remove it and thought it a feature.

However changing the audio to headphone then changing sound to variable worked. These options are grayed out if i selected External Audio source first. Having changed to TV source then changed these options and then reverted back to external audio the volume bar appears instead of fixed message.
