TV remote control cannot control the volume on the Sonos Ray

Hi all here.

I have a Sonos Ray speaker that I’ve set up and connected to my system. I’ve also paired the remote control with the Sonos system, and it should now be able to control the volume up and down. The TV is a new LG 43" 4K LED TV (model 43UT91006LA). Although it was challenging, I managed to connect the remote control to the Sonos Ray multiple times. However, the system still isn’t able to adjust the volume. What could be causing this issue?

Hope some knows what to do here.

I found this link: https://support.sonos.com/en-gb/article/unable-to-adjust-the-volume-using-the-lg-magic-remote

I will try it and return if help is needed.

Thank you for taking care and your time.

Have you got a Sonos Home theatre product attached to your TV?  If not then I don’t see how this will never work.

Hi Bockersjv.

Thank you for answering .

The Roam, and only the Roam is attached to the TV using it’s fiber connection. So I will not call it a Hoemm theatre system :o) The TV’s sound output is disconneted (is out of sync) so I have expected to control the sound on the Roam using the remote control. If this is not possible - the product would be useless. Since I have the possibility to set it up in the Sonos app it should be working.

The Roam is not suited for this task. You’d be better off with a Sonos Ray or the more expensive Beam or Arc.

Also the Roam does not have a fibre connection!  It is a portable BT speaker that also works as a Wifi speaker when configured in the Sonos app.

Sorry, bockersjv!

I’m a big fool here - I am referring to a “Ray Sound” bar and of cause not a Roam. I hope you have some input here 😳
