I'm a bit confused with the different namings of optical outputs. I have a Philips 4000 series http://www.philips.co.uk/c-p/40PFH4109_88/4000-series-full-hd-led-tv-with-digital-crystal-clear/specifications with SPDIF connection. Is this the right one for a Playbar?

Yes. Optical is the medium, S/PDIF is the signal format for the digital audio data that is sent over the cable. They're often used interchangeably in regards to optical connections, though S/PDIF is also the format used for the digital coaxial cables as well.
