I regularly check the built in Smart apps to see if Atmos support has been added,

The built in Apple TV app now supports Atmos over Dolby Digital + which is good news.

Apple Music app hasn’t been updated to support Atmos as yet.

also tested AppleTV 4K (gen 1) still does not seem to support Atmos over DD.+
