I have Samsung smart tv and sonos play 1. Now i am planning to buy sonos connect so that i can play the tv sound in sonos play 1. My TV only got optical out and sonos connect also got optical port. If i connect TV's optical out to sonos connect optical port and configure sonos play 1. Does this play the sound in sonos play 1 from rhe TV?

No, the Connect optical port is an output.
Besides, playing TV through a Line-In is not satisfactory owing to the audio delay. You should buy a Beam.
