I've ordered a Beam as it is seems perfect for my requirements. My TV is on a wall mount bracket above a fireplace. I would like to hang the Beam below my TV as there is no wall below the TV to use the Beam mounts (they are all for wall mounting). Does anyone know if the Sanus Playbar TV mount would work ( https://www.sonos.com/en-gb/shop/sanus-playbar-tv-mount.html ) or if not whether there is currently an alternative, many thanks
Good question. Wondering myself while looking for a new tv and standard for this Beam.
The Playbar mount won't work for the Beam because they have entirely different footprints and mounting capabilities. That universal mount won't work as the only holes on Beam are on the bottom, to secure it to a shelf-like mount. We have a mount that's both the TV and Beam here: https://www.sonos.com/en-gb/flexson-cantilever-mount-for-beam.html and you could also look into if your TV mount could have mounting brackets attached and you could then use this mount with it: https://www.sonos.com/en-gb/shop/wall-mount-for-beam.html

We don't usually recommend using brackets and mounts that we haven't had the chance to test, but you could try it out if you're interested.
Thank you Ryan, that all makes sense
The suggested mount says it's only for TVs up to 40 inches. That's a shame.
I'm going to buy Sonos Beam and want to mount it as Flexson

https://www.sonos.com/en-us/flexson-cantilever-mount-for-beam.html

but do not want to buy the entire bracket. The part that you mount on the Vesa mount that you mount Beam on must fit almost any TV bracket?

I do not want to replace my TV bracket with one arm plus that there will be several new holes in the wall.
Still, it doesnt work for the (floor) standard Im looking to buy, where I want the Beam with the 55 inch tv. So cant pre order 😞
unfortunatley until there are a few more options on the mounts for the beam other than buying a whole new TV mount (which are very expensive) i will have to put my Beam purcahse on hold. Snos - I hope you are working with 3rd parties to come up with something soon as i dont thin forcing people to buy a whole new wall mount is the right approach here...
I was wondering if maybe you could buy the Beam wall mount AND the Sanus Playbar Mount, then attached the wall mount to the playbar mount? ...unfortunately thats an expensive solution. :(

I'm in the same boat - ready to buy a Beam EXCEPT I can't because my only option is to hand it from my TV mount somehow.
I have the same issue. The television mount is on 8" centers. My plan is to have a 10" square piece of 1/8" thick aluminum fabricated with 3" bent at a sharp 90° angle to form a "shelf" to support the Beam. I'll drill holes in the 7" X 10" part on 8" centers and use the television mounting screws to secure that part between the TV and its mount. I'll drill two holes on 6" centers on the 3" X 10" "shelf" to secure the sound bar. Good idea? Is there any reason that I need to be able to access the top of the soundbar? What are the specifications for the machine screws that go into the bottom of the Beam?
As near as I can tell from the link that Ryan S provided, it looks like the screw holes on the bottom are standard VESA width.
I've managed to attach the beam wall mount to my TV bracket using this " https://www.sonos.com/en-gb/shop/sanus-playbar-tv-mount.html " It looks very good and seems stable
I went ahead and had the L shaped piece of sheet metal I described above fabricated from sheet steel to avoid having to prime aluminium before painting black. Had to cut a rectangular hole in it to accommodate the Beam’s cable connections. Works great. $20.
Good to hear that worked. You have spent far less money than I did - 😃
Well there was also the $5 can of spray paint and the two 37 cent machine screws. $20 is what i paid the sheet metal shop for the material and bending. I also probably put two hours of personal labor into it.
Yep - I probably spent around two hours on my expensive solution 😉

concern i'd have about that is that then the speaker is firing downward, not out --- thinking you might be able to use a little 90-degree angle bracket like the kind used to secure a bookshelf or dresser to a wall to attach it to a mount like that
It is a good point mpstella and worth mentioning for those considering doing this. My beam does point slightly downwards (maybe 10 degree) but that is not a problem for me personally as it is wall mounted fairly high
I have the TV already mounted on a fully articulating cantilever bracket and the Sonos Beam and Mount, but how do I fix the Beam mount to the TV bracket????

Will something like this work, with the Beam mount....

https://www.amazon.co.uk/1home-Universal-Soundbar-Bracket-Speaker/dp/B01ESPI2NY/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1542879552&sr=8-3&keywords=universal+soundbar+tv+bracket

Or do I need to buy the more expensive Sanus one!!!

????
Others will be better qualified to say for sure but having just taken a look at mine I don't see why this wouldn't work
Have you guys seen this SANUS mount? It's brand new and designed for the Beam, not the Playbar mount version others have noted above. I think it's new. I bought it, worked really well for me. Super easy to install and holds position.

Thanks for the info TheSauceGuy - good to see there is a new all in one solution specific for the beam
I mounted the beam to my 46” Samsung TV and generic articulating wall mount for the sum total of $27.94. I maybe could’ve done it even cheaper with more research, but this solution was quick and easy with one order of two Amazon items:

Mounting Dream MD5420 Soundbar Bracket Universal Sound Bar TV Mount for Mounting Above or Under TV Fits Most of Sound Bars up to 22 LBS, with Detachable Long and Short Extension Plates — $19.99

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01DW1XOCY/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_tai_idLmCbXVYHJKE

MHMYDZ 4 Pcs Black Steel Heavy Duty "L" Corner Brace Joint Angle Bracket Shelf Bracket Wall Hanging with Screws 125mmX75mm/5 InchX3 Inch Decorative Corner Brackets Joint Angle Bracket — $7.95

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0768SH78H/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_tai_7dLmCbXAHJDVW

Also needed:

1. Philips screwdriver

2. 1/4” HSS drill bit

The Mounting Dream mounting kit actually comes with three separate bars — I only used the medium-sized bar in my application. Ultimately, I only used about 25% of the total kit. For the “L” brackets, I had to drill out the holes on the long side with a 1/4” bit to accommodate the TV mount screws. I had to use the spaces from the mounting kit to mount the speaker to the “L” brackets because of the length of the screws. They look a little weird, protruding from the bottom of the speaker. I could’ve shortened the screws with a hacksaw or found shorter screws at the hardware store, I suppose.

All in all, it took about a half hour to put it all together and $27.94 worth of parts that came in two days from Amazon.
