Followed instructions from jvc model LT-40C750(A) to connect through the play bar but it still no sound through speakers only the tv
The instructions are for HDMI-ARC as i could not find anything to suggest what to do when connecting to SPDIF
Can anyone shed some light on this?

What Sonos device are you attempting to connect? You use the term play bar (perhaps you mean PLAYBAR?) which doesn't support the HDMI-ARC function. The Beam is the only Sonos product that uses HDMI-ARC. The PLAYBAR and PLAYBASE both support optical connection only (SPDIF). And you need to be sure that your TV is set to Dolby Digital...as well as all devices that are connected to your TV.
