Beam pairing with tv remote and control tv menus?

Just received and connected my new beam. Sounds great! I'm sure I read that after syncing your TV remote to the beam that your TV remote would still work with tv menus etc by using IR sensor in the Beam.

The beam stands slightly higher than my Sony bravia tv and therefore blocks the ir sensor so I can't control tv menus just volume via Beam.

Looks like I'm going to have to raise height of tv so ir receiver can see the controller...

Unless I'm missing something with the beam setup?

You are correct, you're going to have to raise the TV. The TV remote still needs to have line of sight to the TV IR receiver. The IR sensor on the the beam is only for Volume control of the Beam itself.
Yeah cool thought as much, shame as would.lf been great with that function.
It would be absolutely awesome if the Beam could send all the IR Commands to other Boxes.

So you could hide other boxes inside furniture or behind the tv or something.

Is that technically possible through HDMI-CEC?
If yes that would be an update I would like to pay for ?

If not, please make that possible in the next Hardware release.
