Where are the Sonos Ace release notes? I keep getting firmware updates but no release notes in the app or the website from what I can tell.

Did you find what you were looking for?

Sonos doesn't do Ace release notes. It's frustrating  but  I'm told through customer support that they can't effectively translate the technical details of the tweaks in a way that we'd appreciate. I'm also told they're still working on getting TrueCinema ready to roll out, at some point.

Ugh that’s about what I expected and sounds like a canned response from Sonos as even some high-level notes like “Fixed static sounds” would be helpful. Really regretting my purchase of the Ace and it’s convinced me to not upgrade my Sonos home sound systems.

They will probably be on Ace gen 2 before true cinema is ready.

Agreed release notes would be nice, but the absence of these do not make me regret buying an Ace. Why would it?

Simply because it continues to show lack of good faith from Sonos. After the bungled app update they had committed to additional transparency and communication. That app launch coincided with the Ace release, which one would assume would mean that clear communication would extend to this product line. I can only assume there is at least one product manager assigned to the Ace line who should be able to articulate what work is being done on the product via each iterative software/firmware update.

With this lack of the most basic of communications around product lifecycle development, it’s clear that Sonos is still yet not able to make their commitment to their customers on clear communication.

May be best to put it this way - my litter box has release notes - my $400+ headphones do not.

Does @Sonos support monitor these forums? Any chance we will ever see release notes?

This is a users community, for users to help other users.  Sonos does moderation, and sometimes the mods comment, but that is not their primary function.

I bought the Sonos Ace at launch to use with my TV via the Sonos Beam 2. To this day, about 9 months later: I'm still experiencing occasional audio interruptions. True Cinema isn't here, nor does it seem to be expected.

It was announced as a major revolution that would be spectacular in all the product previews and reviews. We trust Sonos, and 9 months later we still have no sign of True Cinema, and I doubt it will ever arrive. It seems they're just waiting for time to pass before it's forgotten, or better yet, they're leaving it for a Sonos Ace 2.

At this point, if it never arrives, for my part, it will be the last Sonos product I've ever bought (of a few). What's more, if True Cinema never arrives, we, as users, should file a joint lawsuit against Sonos for false advertising. The launch price wasn't cheap, leaving us users who trust them in the lurch.

Sorry, the support line from SONOS reflects their attitude “can't effectively translate the technical details of the tweaks in a way that we'd appreciate”

  • Release notes are not about marketing but documenting what has changed
  • Let the consumer be the judge if they can appreciate the release notes. Keeping in mind we are your customers and not your 5 year old child.
  • Nobody would object to have a release note summary and a technical version

New management, no changes :-(

Are there any updates? I use my headphones very rarely and just did again today for the first time in maybe 3 or more months. I search for updates, but it stays on “searching for updates” forever and not finding anything (I guess).

Which is the latest firmware and is there another way of getting it than searching in the  Sonos app?

Lol no. They can’t even give us release notes, let alone another firmware OTA method.
