My SONOS Ace's are leaking sound

Forum|alt.badge.img

I recently got my SONOS Ace’s a couple of weeks ago and I am absolutely loving them.

I mostly use them in my shared office space due to the dual connectivity between my phone and PC.

Unfortunately, it sounds like the sound from my headphones are “leaking” so loudly that someone on the opposite side of the office can make out what song I am listening to!

It’s a shame because I really wanted to have the full listening experience of my headphones but I need to now think about how loud I am putting them.

SONOS Ace product page - “Personal listening perfected”

Otherwise I am really happy with them but this is a real stickler

I’m using my Ace headphones in the office for the same purpose.  However, it’s background music for me, so I’m not really even going past a quarter of the full loudness scale.  Plenty loud enough for me for both music and for taking calls, never had any complaints.    I wouldn’t be too surprised if turning it up would bleed out, there is only so much audio the ear cushions can block,  but I don’t really want to test that at work.  Granted, I have not used many different headphones, so I don’t have a basis for comparison to other products.

The only complaints I’ve really had, if you can call them complaints, is that I cannot hear coworkers trying to get my attention because of the noise cancellation feature.  Sort of related, but I have also been in a couple long running zoom calls that had to be paused because the standard issue headsets my coworkers were using ran out of battery power, but the Ace has no issues going on all day long.

Wouldn’t you want Aware mode on for working in the office so that you’re not unavailable to your colleagues?

As much as I understand that there is only so much that headphone cushions can do to block sounds from bleeding at high volumes. The unfortunate thing is that my Airpod Pro 2 don’t bleed at all. As much as the quality is way better on the SONOS Ace, the Airpod Pro 2 wasn’t far behind.
