Please help as I am going crazy trying to sort this.

Due to other issues, I had to factory restore my Sonos One but am now finding it impossible to re add Google Voice Assistant, I have relinked the account (I only have one, so no issues there) tried adding Alexa as an experimet, which does add, but does not react to voice comands, says system not online, but it definitely is,  just want to get Google back up and running, have tried everything with no luck. All I have is the message "This may take a minute. If it is taking too long, try again" and the icon just spinning away, I have no idea what to try next.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Kind regards

Darren.

Android or iPhone? Try another OS?

Android phone, will try on my wife's iPhone to see if that helps.

Have seen some conflicting reports that I am no longer able to add Google Assistant to Sonos One ?

I’m having this same issue, any assistance would be appreciated.

All I can see on this community is that some phones that have Gemini installed will not install GA with Sonos. Using a phone that has GA but no Gemini seemed to do the trick.

There used to be some workarounds to add Google Assistant (remove Gemini, restart phone, etc.), however none of them have been working for the last month or so. After 100+ failed attempts it appears that Sonos can no longer add the Google Assistant, and with the current state of Sonos’ development I would be surprised if they were able to repair it within the next couple years, if ever.

Add it to the ever growing list of let downs from team Sonos.

Yes, I have now tried everything, but nothing works; I have had to install Alexa as a last resort, but it's not what I want.

I will keep my eyes open for any other workaround.

Afternoon all,

I don't suppose anyone has heard of any updates on this one?

Nope.

I’ve had this problem several times, the answer is use an apple device to do the setup (iphone, iPad). Android always fails for me but my ipad works

Aren’t we all stupid trying to use an android device to setup google assistant and expecting it to work!

I just added Google Assistant to all of my voice speakers with ease, using an Android phone w/ OS version 16 security update 2025.9. It seems like the issues may be fixed, or perhaps I just got incredibly lucky. I’ve added Google Assistant to these speakers a few times in the past and it was always an arduous task, but it was a breeze just now. I added them in the Sonos app through Settings > General Settings > Voice Assistants > Add a voice assistant. I doubt you need to use that specific route, but figured I would share just in case.
