this is ridiculous!

I’m 63 years old and I’ve already spent way way way too much time trying to figure out how to play a song my wife wrote for me for my birthday.

 

I spent all this money to play my music and again I’m spending way too much time trying to figure out how to f**** do it!

 

The only way I’m finding is to use a DIFFERENT app or I can only listen to it on the Bluetooth side of my Move???

 

UNACCEPTABLE and yes, I’m pissed.

Because Apple chose to force the change that Sonos couldn’t use the iOS systems as remote drives. And subsequently Google chose to make the same change to Android. Supposedly for security reasons.

However, if you have an AirPlay 2 or Bluetooth capable Sonos speaker, you can do what I do, and use your Apple Music app to ‘play’ the source (non-Sonos) and send it to the Sonos speaker, where it can be grouped with any other Sonos room desired in the Sonos software. 

 

Does that work with Local file songs? I don’t see a “Files” folder or the ability to add that as a location.

Sorry, I don’t understand the question. 

Any sounds you can access on your mobile device should be able to be sent either via Bluetooth, or AirPlay 2. You get to choose the non-Sonos player on your mobile device, it sends the signal to the OS, which is grabbed by the Bluetooth or AirPlay 2 ‘interupt’ and sent out to any receiving device.
