So system transfer doesn’t work. Dealer set up doesn’t work. Just keeping 2 roams paired as stereo speakers works 8% of the time. And when it does it will constantly drop one whenever it feels like. Why are we pushing new hardware when the software is absolute garbage? I’m one more issue away from dropping my dealer status and selling something else. If it’s not setup issues it’s connection issues. Grouped rooms dropping at random. Rooms disappear randomly from the system. Insane delays from volume controls or song changes. And the fact that everytime you call Sonos you get some different answer as to why their products don’t work today. One day it’s hardware everything. The next it’s only the soundbars using surround. It seems like they need to fire the new CEO and another 11% staff.

I’m curious: Do you set up the system on your network, then take it to the customer site? What sort of networking do you use on customer sites?

Unifi router of sorts. Mostly UDM pros. Unifi APs usually all ran through a unifi switch of sorts. I just left a house today. Spec home that was already set up. Tried to transfer….failed. Called the absolute joke that is Sonos support. Even though you call and use the dealer support option, The morons read from the end user support script. Giving you troubleshooting steps like unplug it and reset it. Like I haven’t already done that before calling. But he tells me the engineers are working on the transfer portion and it’s a known issue…….has been since I started AV 5 years ago. Transfers have never been stable. Out of the 30+ homes I’ve had to transfer to new owners. I’ve gotten maybe 3 to successfully transfer. But he tells me I have to reset everything and set it back up under customer account. And if you try to use the dealer “multi set up” good luck. You can add them all then as you go to update. If just 1 hangs. The entire thing fails. And all the nfc, sound ping, PIN code bull has to be done again. For EVERY DEVICE. So I didn’t bother. Set them all up one by one. Got through 6 of 12 (all being fed network from the same switch) and the next 4 said “we couldn’t find the Sonos device on your network”  AFTER the pop up says add device. It gives me that while getting device ready. I’ll be testing unifi amps. And I hope they work and are as hassle free to set up as every other unifi device so I can stop selling this garbage and not be bothered with service calls because “I’m listening to music and it just cuts out then comes back” while the rest of the network is stable
