Sonos fraudulently purchased 2 amps on my credit card, how did this happen?

This morning I received an email from Sonos indicating that I had purchased 2 amps.  They had my correct name, credit card number, and email address but wrong home/billing address.  I canceled my credit card and I think I was able to also cancel the purchase from Sonos.  I had recently (2 days ago) used that card to purchase an Andrew Bird substack subscription.  I know Andrew Bird has done some work for them.  I would like to know how this happened. I never made the purchase.

I am sorry to hear that you have found a fraudulent attempt to purchase Sonos products on your credit card. It seems much more likely that someone has attempted to purchase these products from us using your credit card than it is that it was us that decided to do it in the first place.

I can only really recommend that you contact our sales department directly to find out all you can about this attempted purchase. I hope that you get to the bottom of it.
