I’ve owned Sonus product since they first came out and I updated to the new versions when the updates are offered. I’m familiar with most of the idiosyncrasies the systems and how to resolve various problems. With the new application I started experiencing speaker dropouts random issues with playback and general instability. =—->My Sonos configuration is as follows. Two Sonos play 1s, Two Sonos ERA 300s with a Sonos subwoofer, Two Sonos play 5s, Two Sonos ports one to a Yamaha sound bar and one to a Yamaha receiver, and One Sonos sound bar. —— I’ve been operating all of these with the previous version of the Sonos application without any problems. When I updated the new application today and I had the following problems.———> Random changes to the volume sliders without my touching them. Random selections of speakers or ports sets without my touching them. Random switching of selected speakers or ports; I would select the sound bar and it would go to the ERA 300s. I would set the play 5s and it would go to the sound bar. Sometimes it would say that there were no speakers available. When I did have limited functionality on one set of speakers I attempted to set up the voice control and came back with an errors saying that it was not able to set the voice control. I would try to break and reestablish stereo pairs and that would randomly work. — I verified the routers operation, reset the router, check the ethernet cable integrity to the Sonos sound bar. I ran the Sonos application on an iPad Pro sixth generation. After doing a soft reset on the iPad Pro I had completely deleted and reinstalled the latest Sonos application. Despite repeated attempts following some of the suggestions on the Support site I was unable to get the new application to be stable. I subsequently gave up completely removed the application and set up the older revision of the application on my iPhone 13. I use the old application and I had no problems whatsoever and everything worked perfectly. It’s quite possible that I miss something but right now I suggest the highest probability is this application is not ready for prime time and you should attempt to use it at your own risk. I would recommend that anybody considering updating the new application wait until Sonos comes out with some updates that hopefully fix the stability issues. If you don’t have a back up version of the older Sonus application you might not want to try the new version. There are some other non-Sonos applications available in the Apple App Store that might work in the interim if you get stuck after attempting to use the new Sonos application. I can’t believe that this was thoroughly debugged and Beta tested prior to release given the problem so I’ve experience.
