new app = numerous negative issues

Numerous issues with new app on ipad

1 access to home screen is often sluggish through to not  accessing service at all (ok on android)

2 when music is playing. I either can’t switch it off or can’t change what’s playing to something else

3 I can’t access any favourites other than what’s on the screen despite having more favourites than shown..this is not an issue on android  phone

4 can’t seem to add tracks to playlists other than through Deezer app(my first choice  musician streaming service)

5/all my previous to update playlists saved to Sonos completely vanished …v annoying

6/ nothing to do with iPad but on Chromebook Sonos new app won’t load at all making it useless 

7/I only have a play 3 at Mo but looking to update tv soon and would like a soundbar to complement it….dont think it will be a Sonos if the app doesn’t deliver v basic service of acces ,stop and play consistently.

The new app won’t load recently played, favourites and services on my iPad at all. As a result, I have access to my system, but no way to play anything on any components. I do get a message that says “you need to sign in to access” and provides a sign in button. But when the button is tapped, nothing happens - no sign in page appears. As a result, the tool I use the most - my iPad (which has a supported operating system) is useless when it comes to using my Sonos system. Who in their right mind releases such a useless piece of software?

Agree with your summary ,iPad is useless for Sonos at the moment and needs sorting out quickly ,if for no other reason than monthly  subscription to music services such a iTunes  etc ,is money wasted if you can’t play what they have to offer.

This app is horrible!  Trying to use the I-pad, as we know, is ridiculous.  I also have a third party server/hard drive, (Innuos).  Sometimes the Sonos app sees the server and it works fine, other times it does not even recognize it as a source, even when it’s already playing it!  I have recommended Sonos to so many friends and family over the years.  They are all so frustrated.  I’m really embarrassed and feel I got them into this mess. My only hope is enough people complain that Sonos will do something.  Otherwise I’m dumping this whole mess and moving on.

Everyone has been very quiet on the subject, I’ve barely seen any complaints on here. Maybe if we can just get a little more noise, Sonos will post to say that they recognise there are significant issues and are working on fixes.

Cuándo van a corregir la nueva Aplicación, Es frustrante que no puedes integrar correctamente el sonido de tu sala De cine, porque no se sincroniza correctamente con la pantalla, hay muchas fallas el la nueva aplicación, No puedes sincronizar correctamente cuando tienes varias habitaciones, Hablé al al centro de ayuda y me dijeron que era la conexión de internet por tener varias bocinas en varias habitaciones. Sin embargo, esto no pasaba con la  aplicación anterior, Realmente es desesperante y muy muy molesto como amante de audio, que te obligan a hacer una actualización incompetente y mediocre, la cual no cubre ninguna expectativa, Al menos que solamente tengas una bocina, lo cual es ilógico basado en los principios de Sonos, Por lo que les pido urgentemente realicen la actualización, En caso contrario, perderán no solamente clientes de muchos años, los cuales fuimos los que hicimos Crecer su marca, sino también las de nuevas generaciones.

Can’t control anything on th iPad now.its simply got worse ,which is saying something as it was bad since the launch of the updated app.

to summarise I get the Home Screen up (looks pretty )but it doesn’t work ,I was able to select  and play  on occasions .but now no button is responding,so I just uploaded a sonopad app and everything works fine from there.its not the best but IT WORKS.sonopad cost £3.99…..not a big sum but an unnecessary one…so thank you for that Sonos….its pretty poor that I have to  get access to your system  through another app ..you should be embarrassed.

Agreed 100%  I have had MULTIPLE issues since the app update including:

 

  1. Music won’t play from Apple Music as it did before
  2. If you start a song/playlist from the app but then use the voice commands, you are SCREWED!
  3. vice versa from #2
  4. The system doesn’t retain my speakers.  Either one, two, three..or all 7 speakers are lost.  
  5. A reboot of my router, speakers, and the app has been required several times daily to get the speakers back on line.
  6. There is a HUGE delay on voice commands and app commands.   
  7. Don’t even try to remove a speaker or add a speaker during a song.  When I do, the #5 circus begins again.
  8. resetting the speakers takes about 3 tries everytime I have had to do it.  

 

Overall this system has gone from excellent to simply garbage.   I called their 800 # this morning and was told I would have a 5 minute wait.  39 minutes later I hung up on them.  

Does anyone have recommendations for a replacement to the Sonos system?  Bose?  ApplePod2?

My Sonos app won’t even load on my iPad.  I was on with their rep and they told me to delete and reinstall the app.  I did that and now it won’t even open. It is a greyed out screen. Won’t let me sign in.

I’m experiencing a almost daily deterioration in the device via the s2app, the latest irritant is that it won’t find my system at all unless re install the app ,then it works to some extent for a while and then it can’t find system again and guess what..I have to reinstall the app again….this is only on the iPad…it’s ok on an android phone but not as good for my listening needs as it was prior to update.

whats also v annoying …is that Sonos doesn’t seem to communicate with its customers and tell us when this system is going to do what its supposed too…yet they keep sending me sales emails trying to sell me a new speaker or headphones…I ask you ..would you by them when they can’t get the controlling app right.?
