Well, I bought into this SONOS system and it used to work awesome.  Now, it’s crap. Now I have all of these components and they're all as good as paperweights now.  I cannot get this BS system to work anymore for anything.  I have submitted diagnostics, well when the system will allow me to anyways, most the times I cannot even submit diagnostics because I can't connect to it or it just simply won’t let me.  I'm so frustrated with this system.  I have speakers in every room of my house and I sure wish I could control them.  My speakers drop off, one room will play one thing while the rest of the house is on something else or just gone.  I've spent time with the techs on the phone.  I've had to go to every single piece of equipment and unplug it and plug it back in. I just want to listen to music in my house but I guess I put all my money into the wrong system.  Anyone have a better system they are using now cause I'm ready to throw thousands of dollars away to get music in my house.  Sucks so bad.  So frustrated.  I hate SONOS now.

I’m sorry you’re experiencing those issues - especially since you acknowledge that your system used to be so good.

At the risk of upsetting you, I have to suggest the issue might be environmental rather than the speakers themselves. If the speakers did work, they probably will still work - if the environment is right. WiFi interference is a common issue. New electronics in your house, or failing old equipment, can cause interference. So can changes in your neighbours’ homes. Mesh wifis can also be an issue if not correctly set up.

Have you changed anything in your network?

Submitting diagnostics doesn't accomplish anything except create a file for a Sonos support tech to look at when you call them.

If you want to get your system working maybe the oth3r users here can help or you could call support.

I make a habit of rebooting my ISP’s router about once a month — else things can get weird. If i search the Internet, it’s obvious that I’m not alone. Sure, I could install my own router, but I’d rather save the money and at the moment a very basic router will suffice.

It’s not upsetting to get questions. I was hoping this would inspire some suggestions. It actually all fell apart when that major update to the app happened a few years back. It seemed nothing has worked right since then. I do have an Eero mesh and have excellent WiFi in every room. It’s fiber optic at the router and it’s the high-speed Verizon or Frontier service. I do have a lot of internet devices running all the time, cameras, lights, robot vacuum, etc. I thought the solve was going to be when the tech told me that only one device should be wired to my Eero system and I had as many things as I could connected by Ethernet. So I corrected that but it unfortunately did not solve my problems. I actually really do love my Sonos system and that’s why it’s so frustrating to me when it doesn’t work. I have 2 ports, a Boost, and multiple speakers everywhere you look in the house. So I really want this to work correctly. Thank you and everyone else for any help. I want to get this fixed so I can continue to recommend Sonos and buy more speakers.

What SONOS components are in your system? As a test power down the BOOST.

Yes I got the purpose of the submitting diagnostics and I have done it many times since I’ve owned this. It used to be that you could email the tech support dept and go back and forth that way and I’ve found them incredibly helpful in the past. It just seems that I have some evil spirit in my WiFi that won’t let the Sonos environment work. I don’t know I can’t figure it out. I really want this to work though and appreciate any and all advice, comments, criticism, verbal abuse, and/or help.

Do you mean power it down and leave it out of the system altogether or just power it down and do the 30 second pause and then plug it back in?  I’m skeptical that the Boost is even any good because it seems with the mesh system and my WiFi, the Boost may be so old it isn’t keeping up with my network or something. Anybody else have a Boost in their system and then had better results without it?  Is it even necessary anymore?  It’s the product I am using as the only Sonos product hooked up via wired Ethernet.

Does your mesh system channel-hop, or are the units all locked to one specific channel? As I understand, Sonos struggles unless the units are locked to a single channel.

A mesh network might create a fabulous network, but Sonos’ demands - a need for continuous communication to ensure uninterrupted music streams - is very different to a printer receiving a file from a computer, for example.

The Boost is old technology and provides a poorer connection to your older Sonos speakers, the newer ones ignore it. It is almost always better to go fully Wi-Fi unless Sonos recommends Ethernet to some speakers. My system is much better using modern Wi-Fi and with some speakers on 5 gHz.

Have you tried reserving addresses for all your Sonos in your router's DHCP Settings? Do that and then a network refresh to lock them in. That made a big difference here.

I’m definitely going to try to make reservations in my Eero for Sonos. I’m guessing no Boost and reservations are really gong to help.
