Getting closer.. Request volume fix

Forum|alt.badge.img+1

App seems to be getting better, more stable. Navigation still challenging. Mostly still missing the feature I miss the most. When adjusting master volume, I really miss seeing the volume levels of all the speakers and then being able to easily adjusting individual speaker levels. And then being able to easily adjust the EQ right from  that screen. Please restore that!! Thanks

Sometimes a reboot of the router, after an update, can fix these kind of issues, better still (if not done already) reserve the Sonos device IP addresses in the routers DHCP reservation table, so that after reboot they are given the same ‘fixed’ IP address by the router.

That’s there in the minimized play screen.  It’s an awkward place for it but it’s there.

Yes it’s there @ScottyAloha, just tap/slide your finger either right, or left, on the volume button on the minimised grouped room screen - see the ‘example’ animation attached from my iPhone controller.

OK, I see that now. Thanks. Working very sporadically. I guess I never really try it from the minimized position, usually from the Now Playing screen. Has that been there since the launch of the new app?

Anyway, rebooted router and added IP addresses in the routers DHCP reservation table and still slow and sporadic and forwarding to next track on its own.

I do have Deco Mesh X55 but Sonos advised that should not be an issue.

Yes, I find the group volume controls ‘sluggish’ - certainly not as responsive as the previous App. The popup room-volume control screen is not too bad on an iPhone, but it’s a real nuisance on an iPad/tablet, as it overlaps the volume control on the mini-player. The screen needs moving resizing on a tablet controller. See attached.

I agree. There is a definite lag between moving the “master” volume and when the individual speakers react. Even then they do so independently! Very odd and very annoying.

Aswell as installing the updates since first release, I did go onto improve my Sonos device SNR levels, as mentioned in the support link below, to ensure all were set at 45dB, or higher …and where practical, put supported products over to my routers faster 5Ghz band - and that helped with the volume control lag. See attached.

I still think there’s some room for further improvement however and perhaps additional optimisation.

Wow. That’s much more responsive than mine. I’ll try your fix.

Thanks.
