This has been going on wayyyy too long!!! GEE! Maybe we should all keep purchasing more SONOS products to throw all of our money out the window!!! You have all of us Customers that have spent Thousands of Dollars on this equipment!!! Then some pretend Brainiac decided to F%$# it all up - leaving countless - loyal Sonos Customers in the Wind!!!! Seriously! WTF??? During all of this - I purchased a new $900.00 (actually it was more) Router to supposedly accommodate these ridiculous ‘made up’ updates - and it STILL DOES NOT WORK!!!! Of course, during all of this - you feel safe and protected because you only hide behind a website and possibly some phone calls for assistance - which, been there - done that - and who has the time for that!!! As for owning a company myself - which deals with elevators - installation - maintenance and repairs - there is no way in hell - that we could skip along diddly not doing anything to FIX IT! Because you don’t have to - because you HIDE!!! But! Still advertising to Sell - and Hey! what about that ‘UPGRADE’ - because that’ll work! NOT!!! We need this fixed now - or where is ALL of our MONEY Back for all of the equipment purchased - that no longer functions! Man Up! NOW!!!!!

What router did you buy for $900? Asking so I can avoid.

Regardless of the price as I have a Asus Mesh network comprised of three routers that cost over $900.

However, my questions to you are as performed in the order asked:

  1. Did you unplug all Sonos before taking down your old router?
  2. Did you use the same SSID and Password on your new router?

After your new router was in place

  1. Did you update the software on your device (if necessary)?
  2. Did you plug-in your Sonos 1x1 and let each come back?
  3. Did you download a fresh copy of the Sonos app?
  4. Did you open the Sonos app and select “Join an existing system?

By following the above procedure I can and have changed my network hardware on numerous occasions without issue. In fact my Sonos has been stable since before and after the Sonos app update in May. You might also consider assigning static (reserve) IP Addresses to each Sonos product via your routers admin. By doing so you avoid duplicate IP Addresses for Sonos.

Hint:

You can also try following the official Sonos procedure when installing a new router as outlined in this link.
