Hi everyone. I thought my Roam was dead. All it displayed was an orange light. Could not switch off/ on or reset, tried all the button in for 15 / 30 seconds, still dead.

I know this has been the subject of several threads on here, so I thought I would share my experience.

Tried everything, was actually in phone  queue waiting to speak to Sonos Support, looked up, and hey presto, all was well, I had a white light and everything was working fine. I know it’s bizarre, but if all else fails be patient.

Hi @RedDrag55,

I’m glad to hear your Roam is powered on and working. If it was the battery LED that was orange (the one at the bottom of the Roam) then that means it’s charging. I assume it didn’t turn on because it didn’t have enough power to turn on.

The only other guess would be that the Roam was overheating if it was the status LED that was orange. I would recommend calling support if this does happen again as they can grab a diagnostics and look into what’s happening with the Roam, but leaving it for 5-10 minutes on the charging base or charging with USB-C should let you know if it’s dead or just out of power.

I hope this information helps!
