Alexa playing BBC on Preferred Speakers

Please be aware - Amazon have changed the Group settings and “Preferred Speakers” are no more.

Using an Alexa Device Group to get over the BBC dropping TuneIn problem can still work though.

Create your Device Group and put your Sonos speaker(s) and the local Alexa device into it.  Ensure the Sonos speaker(s) are set as the “Speakers” for the group.

BE SURE TO SCROLL RIGHT DOWN THE SPEAKER LIST to find the “Playback Options”.

Chose “Change” and select “Always”

Job Done.

Yes, the good thing is that the  preferred speaker settings appear to have migrated to the new settings with out issue.

Am I missing something here? The label 'preferred speaker' has been dropped but the concept is unchanged - you specify the speakers you want to play.

And there is a bit more flexibility over what happens when you do or don't specify a room.

Has something significant happened?

Useful to have the information though- I hadn't seen that this had happened.
