system disappearing after app 80.04 update

After updating my system with the latest app (80.04) my system has vanished, including arc and surrounds, every room that had a speaker isn’t showing up. Even when I try and add an existing speaker I get an error.

after using the previous app for years it has been very stable and these issues popped up right after update, not sure if anyone else is seeing these issues.

I had a similar issue following the app update: all my speakers (except the left one of a stereo pair) disappeared from the app…
I’ve spent close to 3 hours on the phone with various Sonos support engineers: all the speakers were visible on their side, and they had no clue why they were not showing up in the app. We’ve tried absolutely everything, nothing was working. They confirmed it was a bug created by the app update.

After checking internally, they came back to me few hours ago: only option is to create a new Sonos environment, factory reset each speaker and add them to the new environment… which I did, but it took me almost all day first to try to repair, diagnose with support, and setup everything.

It’s a really big shame because it was such a great product and they killed it with horrible software upgrade.

I just added this to another post about the same issue. Hopefully it may help at least some of you since it worked for me after the same issue:

I (fortunately) only updated App on one device (iPhone) and it was giving me the “devices not available” message. Old app still worked on non-updated devices. On updated iPhone I could see the “your system” screen for a few seconds when turning on app before going to the “not available” screen.  After a few days of frustration and searching for a solution I was about to give up ( I have 13 Sonos devices). I happen to be looking on the iPhone with the update app and after a Oh, what the “Heck” moment did something that allowed it to work. Hopefully this may help a couple of you. I won’t claim this is THE solution, but I’m hoping it may at least help a couple of you. Enough typing.

Go to account setting on Sonos app (top right, person in circle).

In account setting, scroll down to App Preferences.

In App Preferences, scroll down to and tap Reset App and click on Reset.

I got the message that it found all my devices not being shown before on the update and reconnected them through the app.

Again, hopefully this may help some of you.  Good luck!.

Thanks for the info but it did not work for me.  Seriously disappointed in SONOS.

Installed the new version of the App and lost my entire system and all my settings. Had to totaly reset al my devices and create a new system and add all my devices again and configure every setting in the app like for instance my favorite radio stations, voice service and surround system. Had to use my girlfriends Iphone to add my sub mini because the Android app crashed every time I tried to add it with my Galaxy S23

This new SONOS app totaly sucks.

Seems like they have removed this option altogether (connecting to wifi):

Unsupported products

Currently, the Sonos app can update WiFi settings on Sonos products that are capable of using Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE). Some Sonos products don’t have BLE capabilities, so the Sonos app will not be able to discover them in order to update their WiFi network information. These products are:

  • Connect (Gen 2)
  • Connect:Amp (Gen 2)
  • One (Gen 1)
  • Play:1
  • Play:3
  • Play:5 (Gen 2)
  • Playbar
  • Playbase
  • Sub (Gen 1)

  • SYMFONISK Bookshelf (Gen 1)
  • SYMFONISK Table lamp (Gen 1)

@Igro: So what does this mean? I have a a number of the listed speakers. Are you telling me I can no longer connect them at all?

You can, but only when, at least, one of the speakers is wired to the router. Other than that - no. These older speakers won't see a list of available WiFi networks anymore (even when speakers are wired). From the link in the previous post, seems like it was their informed decision.

I had the exact same problem. Support told me to reset my system and create a new one. It’s really annoying as I have all my devices setup on my smart home software as well. And also just setup a new home not long ago so I now have to go through this long process with 5 x speakers around the house all over again. This new app has been a real terrible release. I hate to say it but someone will probably get fired over it

The new Sonos app is becoming so frustrating to use. Since 80.05.04 I have lost all my system settings as of today 26th July.

My playlists have disappeared. My library has gone so I can no longer access any of my music (I don’t stream) My 2 stored Radio stations have disappeared and the app cannot see 5 of my speakers.

SONOS LET US USE version 16.1 until you properly fix this pile of crap you’ve released. Why do I have to wait to Oct to be able to use playlists again!!!! Give the customers what they are asking for which is access to the old app. Keep them happy while you fix your issues.

Same here.  All devices disappeared.  At least Move 2 Bluetooth still works, but damn!

Smells a lot like outsourced development to me, or stupidly unreasonable deadlines imposed on Devs.

They should bite the bullet and let us roll back to last working version of S2 before this re-envisioned mess.
