sonos skipping complete tracks from library

Since the last update of Sonos app, 2 weeks ago, when playing tracks using my iTunes library it skips tracks when playlists or complete albums are used.

it plays perfectly then there is a pause of about 20-30 seconds and when it resumes it has skipped several tracks usually 2 . I can manually go back to the next track it was supposed to play and it is fine then periodically it does it again.

the library is made up of aac and mp3 tracks, about 35000 tracks. Sonos controller on PC windows 10 wifi speed to router 351 mbps. Using Sonos port

This is usually indicative of some sort of wifi interference ,  where the speakers are having trouble maintaining a connection to your local library. You might find it reacts similarly with streaming content, but it varies. 

I’d start with a simple network refresh, by unplugging all your Sonos devices, as well as where your local library is stored, be that a PC of some type, or an NAS. Then I’d reboot the router. Wait a couple of minutes for the router to recover, then power back on all devices, including the Sonos, and where your local library is stored. 

But, while I do think this will resolve your issues, if it doesn’t, I would recommend that you submit a system diagnostic within 10 minutes of experiencing this problem, and call Sonos Support to discuss it. Don’t post the resulting diagnostic number here, their lawyers get sensitive about GDPR.

There may be information included in the diagnostic that will help Sonos pinpoint the issue and help you find a solution.

When you speak directly to the Support staff, they have tools at their disposal that will allow them to give you advice specific to your network and Sonos system.

Since it started with an update it can often be cured by a system refresh. Power down all Sonos, reboot router and give it a minute to be fully operational. Power up your Sonos one at a time and see if things are then stable.

If it keeps happening and the refresh cures it you can use the routers DHCP Settings to assign static/reserved addresses to all Sonos. That seems to cured reboot, update and power-cycle issues for some folks.
