Some settings don't work on Tidal.

Have you checked with Tidal? They’re providing data to Sonos via their servers. All Sonos does is play the music from where they’ve been told to, and apply the settings the SMPI suggests. The actual implementation of all of this is by the Tidal engineers, since Sonos doesn’t have access to write data on Tidal’s servers.

The Height Audio setting affects only Dolby Atmos playback.
But Sonos doesn’t support Dolby Atmos from Tidal, so this setting does nothing.
Dolby Atmos works only with Apple Music and Amazon Music, so the height adjustment makes sense with them.

The support page implies otherwise.

Here’s another support page. Which one is true?

Tidal web site also doesn’t include Sonos in the list of devices which support their Dolby Atmos:

Where’s Sonos here?

Thanks for the warning.  I won’t be signing on to Tidal.

I see the support page has been updated.

*Tidal users can stream a preview of the Dolby Atmos Music experience with Arc and Arc Ultra, when listening to TIDAL HiFi through compatible TVs and supported streaming devices.

So, in other words, streaming Dolby Atmos music from TIDAL is still not available.

The additional info is also contradictory to previous information stated on the support page.

”To play music with spatial audio, your Sonos speaker needs to be connected to your WiFi network and the supported content service must be added to your Sonos system.”

And they also added Dolby Atmos support on top of the page here:
https://support.sonos.com/en-us/services/tidal

This may be way mis-leading as people would think that Dolby Atmos streaming is actually supported exactly like from Apple and Amazon.
The same note about “preview of the Dolby Atmos Music through compatible TVs” is added in the hidden section on the bottom of this page, so only meticulous reader will likely see it.

Yes, it still remains completely mis-leading information.

Hi All

I don’t disagree and have fed your feedback back.
