Sign-in once a day in the new app... what is going on?

Approximately once a day, the app prompts me to sign in.
With the old apps/controllers, I stayed signed in for 15 years... Am I missing something?

Hi all

My apologies - this issue flew under my radar for a while.

This issue has been resolved in previous software updates. However, if you are still experiencing this log-in loop, then you will need to follow these steps to resolve it:

  • Reset the Sonos app (all copies) - User icon » App Preferences » Reset App » Reset
  • Uninstall the Sonos app (all copies)
  • Reinstall the Sonos app

And, if the above does not help:

  • Reset the Sonos app (all copies) - User icon » App Preferences » Reset App » Reset
  • Uninstall the Sonos app (all copies)
  • Factory Reset all Sonos devices
  • Reinstall the Sonos app
  • Set up Sonos system from scratch (Create a New System). Your existing Sonos account can be used.

Please note that resetting all Sonos devices will result in all Sonos Favourites, Sonos Playlists, music services and settings being permanently lost (music service accounts will not be affected, of course).

I hope this helps.

FWIW I am also getting this issue. It is possible it depends on the location of the servers you are attempting to authenticating to.

As suggested, I will reset the app and see if this fixes the issue.

FWIW I am also getting this issue.

Which issue please?  The issue that this topic is about or the one posted by @MoPac ?

I am getting the repeated requests to sign-in. I have now reset the app and will see if that makes any difference over the next few days.

Ross.

Hi @MoPac

Now I’m getting this!  Sonos….. We were getting along so well.  Why are you trying to alienate me

That looks like a hack! Sonos doesn’t want to eroniously share information about you. Read Sonos privacy policy at the link

https://www.sonos.com/en-us/legal/privacy#legal-privacy-2024-share-info-container

Furthermore I’m not experiencing any such issue.

That’s nothing to worry about - we now use a web page to sign into the Sonos app, and your phone is just letting you know that that is what is about to happen. As the domain mentioned is sonos.com, it’s not a problem.

If using Android, you won’t see that message.

I hope this helps.

Hi all

I’m going to see if I can gain some traction on this issue for you. If you have tried resetting the app and still are forced to log in to the Sonos app on a daily basis, please submit a support diagnostic after being asked to log in and let me know here when you have done so (but without sharing the number given). Thanks.

Same with me and third party services also not working since latest poor update. Volume control keeps dropping from connected speakers which appeared to be fixed in the previous attempted fix. Do Sonos actually do any testing or QA before a new version is released?

Yep. Happening to me too. Both my iPhone and iPad. Just annoying.

Same here, tried resetting the app.  Will see how we go.

Hi @Bbr92, @Northfarm & @Willyeckerslike

Thanks for informing us that you are seeing this issue. However, in order for us to investigate, we will need to see diagnostics from those systems affected.

Please submit a support diagnostic after recreating the issue and let me know here when you have done so. If we don’t get diagnostics, we can’t even start looking into this for you all.

Ive submitted the report.  I had to sign in again to do it.  This is on my iPad.  My android phone stays logged in.
