new app: sonos radio unable to "reauthorize", sonos favorites gone

The new App is defective. For some reason, I get stuck in an endless “reauthorize” loop with Sonos Radio. After a day, the problem is still not fixed.

I have tried logging out and back on, I have unplugged and re-plugged the speakers as some other post here suggested, but to no avail. Sonos Radio is not working.

I had a similar problem with Apple Music, but after removing the service and adding it back, I got Apple Music to work in the end. The problem is that you cannot remove Sonos Radio.

I have spent at least 3 hours on this. I will certainly not ever purchase another Sonos device.

I also note that the “Sonos Favorites” showing in the iOS App are just as subset of the full list that I see in the Sonos App on my Mac. Somehow, more than half of my favorites have simply disappeared.

Sonos is just such an absurdly incompetent company. I tried contacting customer support, but I started out as being 32 in the queue but the number never went down. I gave up after 3 hours of waiting.

Apparently Sonos isn’t listening, doesn’t care what their customers think, I even tried emailing the “CEO” apparently it is a bogus email, tried it twice, absolutely no response. The new Ap and Sonos radio doesn’t work. I have tried the phone in for service multiple times, it is always at least an hour, do they really have anybody working these lines, I’m skeptical. For what I have spent on my dozen speakers, you would think they would offer some service. It really is a shame that they have devolved to an uncaring, unsupported ap!

Having the same issue. Called support and I was with them for over an hour and half trying different solutions to fix it. Waste of time. Can anyone recommend another speaker service… I’m over this.

Check out Roon, WiiM and Bluesound.

I tried out Roon, but ultimately decided against it.  I went down the WiiM path, bought new “player” equipment, which is drastically cheaper than Sonos.  I’ve sold my Sonos gear which is helping pay for most of this. I’m loving it, and not looking back. It feels like I’ve got even more capabilities now than I did with Sonos.

It’s taken a while but the latest update to the app has resolved “unable to reauthorize your account” for Sonos Radio and it is now working.

Yep.  And i wasted another hpur of time trying to fix it bc the help site said to download the web app and try on my pc to reauthorize.  DONT BOTHER OR WASTE YOUR TIME!

After on phone with tech support from another country for 45 mins, sent a diagnostic, etc ,etc, then he tells me it wont work bc there are issues.  No sh!t.  Thats why i called.

If that service DOESNT WORK, then dont tell us to try something and get even more frustrated, just tell us YOU CANNOT REAUTHORIZE due to more app issues.

I have an ARC, 2 ports, move, roam and Ace.  Every weekend its something new that wont work, but mostly.... it loses track of my devices.  The Arc works thru HDMI and the BT speakers work that way.

Im not a software engineer, but how can it possibly take soooooo long to get this straight?

same issue for me for both Sonos Radio and Apple music .. with Sonos favorites are gone and cant re-authorise Sonos radio and for Apple music it keeps asking me to authorize it after every day.

I have 2 sonos homes so every time i have start over again and re-connect again and hope it finds it again .. very stressful situation.

The sonos app and system is a real mess… very unpredictable.

Some times music stream will work and some times i have to got dirctly to my apple music app and play  from there.

Some times even from the apple music app the system is not found so i have to open the sonos app and connect to my system again !! and then goto my apple music app to play.

Glad i only have one system.  Cant imagine, but helped a friend with 2 homes and took 2 hours w a foreigner to get 2 new Roams going.

Praying for a streaming music fix shortly.  I usually use Amazon music, but have to resort to Spotify (commercials) occasionally and still no Sonos radio authorization.

Hopefully we will here either a reply to this or a specific Sonos Email telling us that the authorization is now working.

Worn out trying repeatedly.

In general smart home systems are a long way from working flawlessly and making life easier but Sonos is taking it to another level of unreliability!

problem is old-fashioned Hifi system do not rely entirely on smart integration. It’s just a bonus, but Sonos is 100% software controlled so if the software is problematic, then also the product is unusable.

I have had the same issue twice.  I am switching to another speaker system.  I will never buy Sonos products again.  The company is ****.
