struggling with thus half my Sunday. Hopefully you can help out.
i do not know what the taxonomy in sonos is, to add a music library on the USB stick I insrted in the modem.
I have now
\\fritz.box\JeroenMusic
the usb stick is called ‘JeroenMusic’ with directly all my CD’s on it. But somehow this doesnt work.
sonos gives feedback that the access is denied.
assumed that all settings are correct in the fritzbox, I would like to know whether the syntax is ok.

+17It could be that the FritzBox does not support SMB v2, or you can try the path with the IP of the router instead:
//fritz.box/JeroenMusic
or this
//192.168.x.x/JeroenMusic
+18Looks like the Fritzbox does not support SMBv1. See https://en.avm.de/service/knowledge-base/dok/FRITZ-Box-7583/3327_SMB-versions-supported-by-the-FRITZ-Box/ The only Sonos devices that need SMBv1 are S1 devices. Do you indeed use older Sonos devices?
Here is more about the AVM Fritzbox USB:
Do not put your music directly in the root of the usb drive but in a subfolder, for example "music".
On the FritzBox
Go to "Home Network", "USB/Storage"
On the "Device Overview" tab:
On the "Home Network Sharing" tab:
Go to "System" > "FRITZ!Box Users"
In Sonos, use the path:
//<ip-address>/<sharename>/<usb-volumename>/<subfolder>
In your case:
//192.168.178.1/USB/JeroenMusic/music
You may use both forward slash and backslash. It's what you prefer.
