So you CAN update your music library!  Just not with Sonos…  But you can do it with SonosPhone!  For a nominal fee of less than $10,you can have an app that will easily and quickly update your music library.

If SonosPhone is working and the regular Sonos app is not, then you aren’t sharing correctly.  You need to delete the SMB v1/HTTP share used by the old app(s) and add a new one after sharing via SMB v2/v3.  Follow these directions, paying very careful attention to the “Share your music folder on the network” section (it is NOT intuitive!):
