In the Sonos app there is a setting

Account → Data & Privacy → Additional Data Usage

On that settings page there is a switch labeled “Usage Data Sharing”

I want to opt out and disable (o--) this, but I cannot.

It always automatically switches back to “enabled”  (--o).

Being more verbose: I switch if off, leave the settings page (as there is no save or apply), go to the same settings again and what i switched off before is now back enabled.

Very funny Sonos!

Anyone else see this?

P.S.: It is not possible to control this setting on the web either (btw: WHY Sonos, why cant I disable it globally for my account?!), instead the Web configuration page states it should be changed in the app (per device).

Hi @KiPe, FWIW I was able to turn off that setting in the iOS app …

  • Tap the gaccount] icon at the top of the app
  • Under Legal and Privacy tap Data & Privacy
  • Tap Additional Usage Data
  • Turn off Usage Data Sharing

… and the setting is remembered.

I am doing the exact same thing and I cannot turn it off.

More precisely, I can turn it off, but its not remembered.

Strange.

Ok.

So after i realized from the answer form press250, that this is not a general problem I though it might be related to specific accounts.

First thing I did in the app was to sign out and then sign back in with the same Sonos account.

This solves it for me.

sign out - sign back in - disable

So maybe there is a state in which your login foe whatever reason needs to be refreshed.
