Depends on where the issue is. Several comments. First, I don’t trust chatbots yet, I’m much more trusting of a human, looking at a diagnostic. Second, Sonos doesn’t release dates when bugs will be fixed, there is too much randomness involved , from tracking down/identifying the bug, to recreating it locally so an engineer can work on it, to testing the ‘fix’ with a QA team, since ‘it works on my machine’ likely isn’t good enough, to testing it with a beta group, to ensure not only it fixes that bug, but doesn’t introduce other issues with the Sonos system, to scheduling a release.

The concern you have with Spotify Connect isn’t a great comparison, since Spotify Connect contacts a different server at Spotify than the Sonos system does. When you use the Sonos controller, the system is contacting a Spotify server that has SMAPI on it, when you use Spotify Connect, your contact point is a regular server that likely doesn’t have SMAPI on it. And, perhaps unfortunately, Sonos folks don’t have access to Spotify’s server’s code. They can only direct their system to where Spotify tells them to.

TL:DR Sonos doesn’t say if or when bugs will be fixed.

Firstly not a bot

As mentioned the only work around is using Sonos via Spotify connect, I'm not that concerned how either connect more interested if others had a issue as after investing much money and time all I would ask for is a system that's fit for purpose

I encounter the exact same issue running on all my Sonos speakers, all my Sonos One, both my Sonos 5, my era 100, both my moves 2 and my play bar.

I have checked that everything is up to date. It will skip like 10 songs from the queue stating it can't decode, but then, when you go back, it skips some songs it played and plays some songs it said it couldn't play.

With all the bugs on the app that are still going on for more than a year, I'm seriously looking at replacing my current setup for something else.

Both Spotify and Audible keep having unresolved issues and it's frustrating.

It's unbelievable, I'm currently using Spotify connect and my soundbar keeps cutting out every now again, Sonos can not keep blaming network issues no other products I have are having issues. I'm using Sonosnet as I wired my bar straight to the router and only 2 speakers are in a different room yet these never go offline. Sonos CEO please address this it was never like this with S1 and not a thing has changed apart from having to move to s2

S2 is using more modern network protocols than S1. Some of your network defaults may not be appropriate for S2. I’m not having these issues.

There is an assumption that the network is “perfect” if email and web browsing are working. These applications each interact directly with remote servers. SONOS units chat extensively with each other and the controllers over the local network. This requires a more robust local network.
