I used to be able to play music on my Sonos through the Spotify app. A few weeks ago it stopped. Now although all three Sonos speakers appear in the Spotify app, when I try to connect to play music, the icon (bottom left of the screen) blinks for a few seconds and then nothing happens and the music keeps on playing on the device.

Playing music in Spotify through the Sonos app works fine.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

I guess the title of this topic should be “Spotify app wont connect to my sonos speakers” ? However, you are not alone, this have been going on for a while but still I have not seen an “official statement” from Sonos. Please read through this:

Thank for the reply and yes, the issue is with the Spotify app (sorry for the confusion). I’ll look into the thread

Same issue since a few days ago

I just can tell that it’s not a general issue. For me it’s working using latest Sonos firmware 80.3-60160 and latest Spotify app for iOS.
Did you check for latest Sonos firmware/ spotify app and try restarting your smartphone and Sonos devices?

Yes, restarted all Sonos devices, apps and wifi-router. Spotify app can see changes from Sonos app eg if rooms are grouped but when attempting to play from Spotify to Sonos, the connection just doesn’t do anything. Assuming the connection to be cut by some timer.

Puh… did you try to turn off „just show devices on local network“ in settings within Spotify app?
