Question

Sonos Playlists gone since app update

Forum|alt.badge.img

Like most of us, I’m a bit annoyed by the big app update. I want my sleep timer back soon please. But I’m fairly chilled about it.

However I’ve just realised that almost all of my Sonos playlists have disappeared from the new app. There’s 4 left - used to be about 30. Among the missing ones is the playlist my 8 year old son carefully curates and manages. He doesn’t know it’s missing yet but he ain’t going to be happy when he finds out.

Anyone else missing Sonos playlists? Any idea how I get them back??

I have the same damn problem - have tried everything to find them/get them back - that is our PRIMARY method for listening, and it is really frustrating that they are just gone - PLEASE help us / fix yer app so it actually works

Half my Spotify playlists are missing, tried re authorising the app, deleted and re adding and still nothing, really frustrating, I wish there was a way of going back to the old app.

Check the update schedule:

I have done. No mention of Sonos playlists. They just seem to have been dropped. All I have left are Spotify playlists. Very annoying.

I read through the New Sonos App and Future updates - NO mention of SONOS playlists.  I have an extensive archive of my own music on my NAS, that worked fine until this app updated.  Now i have to browse to my music folders AND you can ONLY play one album at a time - does not appear to be even a way to control the queue (i.e. add to end of queue) - new app always says queue is empty.  You really just neutered your capabilities - I am beyond frustrated with this.  Makes no sense at all.  Only plus is spotify playback seems better than before, so if there is no update soon i will have to REBUILD everything in spotify - and that just sucks.  SONOS folks, to say you missed the boat on this one is a huge understatement - and whats worse is the lack of acknowledgement.  Frustrating does not begin to describe the situation.

I agree. I have tried everything. I’ve lost all of my library of party songs and all my personal playlists. Very annoying. I keep tryImg to re authorise my account and it says they have a problem doing this. Sonos needs to help us on this one. I don’t like it just shows albums not playlists.

All my personal  playlists are gone!  Only Pandora and Amazon playlists are showing. Also can’t control the volume buttons.

When will the Sonos Playlists come back.  I have the latest update and can add to queue, play next, but no way to save the playlist I create and no way to access the many many playlist I used to always listen to.  Hoping they add this back ASAP.

This is the biggest fail from Sonos. I’m very unlikely to ever buy sonos again, office or home.

I think I will be switching over once I’ve got all my playlists and queues manually figured out …. Just need to find the time for another pointless venture...

Happened to me too, old playlists gone, unable to create new ones, only one item selectable for playback, ie the system is just unusable.

But the playlists are still there when I switch to one of the alternate players, so instead of debugging/resetting the Sonos app (again!), I’ll just w8 for a fix and use other apps for controlling the boxes

Has anyone heard when we will get our playlists back?  If I have to go through the summer without them, my patio will be very sad.  I am a developer and I am considering developing my own app.  If anyone has experience with mobile and is interested in partnering in an effort like this let me know.

I was fortunate in that I had the app installed on both my computers and my IOS devices.  The phones and iPads all updated with the new app and became useless.  Fortunately, the computers do not automatically update and I was able to realize the new app was junk before I manually updated the computers.

The relevance here is that while I cannot find any of my Sonos Playlists in the new app, all of them are still showing in the old apps on the computers.  So, they have not been purged.  It is just that the revised app does not give you any way to access them.

SONOS update schedule should list every capability that the old app had and when it is either going to be restored or if it will never be restored.

Agreed. I don’t believe this is on the roadmap with an approx date. Not. Good sign imo. Better comms and a more comprehensive list of what’s coming back would be appreciated.
