sonos. device groups

I have a system which covers six rooms.  It includes two Play 5 stereo pairs, an Era 100 pair, and three Sonos Ones.  I prefer to have them as a single group.  I do not know whether this is related to the new app disaster, but I cannot maintain the group. SiriusXM will be playing fine everywhere and then it is only in one room and there is no group.  Sometimes the group only partially fragments.  I do find it difficult to define the group using IOS or Android app.  Defining the group using the app on my Mac OS/X usually works.  I do have Alexa, but never have used it to issue commands to Sonos..

I cannot group anything for this big party I'm having today.  Says "can't connect try again later.

Ive reset the app, powered off all devices, my internet/wifi is fine.

I can play any one Device just fine, cannot group any one device to any other.

Anyone run into this?

Rick

I have seen this occasionally.  Very frustrating as the individual devices seem to be working.

Thanks for reply.  At least it's not just me frustrated w this disastrous new app.

I tried off and on all day, same thing, never got it to work.  Had to use one device all day.

Guessing itll be the same today. ;(

It is not at all satisfactory, but you can tune the devices individually.  The big disadvantage is that they won’t be coordinated.  If you can hear multiple units at once, they’ll be out of sync.

So.... today, everything worked as it should except still said "can't connect", although it did.

New App sucks
