The updated app is terrible. I hate the interface- it is not intuitive. It is slower and doesn’t work half the time- won’t connect rooms like it used to do. We use the sleep timer every night for our kids, it has been hugely inconvenient to not have that rather basic function. We use Sonos throughout our home, yard and gym- please fix it!

Agreed. In today’s release, they say they added sleep timers back. Perhaps, but they hid them very well. I can’t find them anywhere, and they’re not where the help documentation says they should be.

I’m not sure if Sonos management is incompetent or just hates their customers. I can no longer recommend a company that completely and purposefully ruins the product experience for its users.

Touch the three dots at the bottom right of the now playing screen. There’s your sleep timer.

Yup, I read the help. As I said, the sleep timers are not where the help says they should be.

I touched the three dots at the bottom right of the now playing screen. I get nothing that looks like a sleep timer. I can turn on cross-fade and that’s it--well not on TuneIn. Here’s what I see.

Here’s another image of what I see when I click on the three dots a second time, a few minutes later. I get more options, but still no sleep timer! Why did the same options not appear last time? Perhaps just another example of the app flaws and instability.

Oh wait, it gets better. Now I open my Sonos app to this. Same app, just wait 20 minutes and it’ll all go to hell. Did anyone test this app before forcing it on us?

Next update. I just closed the Sonos app and flushed it from my history. It then reconnected to my system and look what I found--a sleep timer! But here’s the deal. Why does the options available, or the entire system, come and go willy nilly? So far, I have about a 3 in 4 chance that the app will find my system, and then about a 1 in 3 chance that the options I want will be available.

I’m so happy my electric vehicle randomly provide or hide the navigation app or, say, the brakes. Could you imagine features appearing and disappearing in such a capricious fashion? Oh, this is Sonos. Sure you can.

It keeps getting better. Every time I open the app now, I get that same screen of options for the one speaker (last one included). It jumps right past the main screen and pops that up. Doesn’t matter if I close those options manually or not, whether I close the app completely or not. That’s now my “home” screen. Even if I change to view a different speaker playing different music, that same screen pops up.

Oh wait, if I switch to my Move in my office, tap the three dots for its options, then that version of the options becomes my “home” screen.

5 minutes later. . . . I get the same options screen, but when I back out, no I get the “No Product Found” screen. But after about 20-30 seconds, the system appears again. I thought that was fixed, too. Nope.

I just don’t understand how the Sonos app interface can be so bad, or how a company would release such a POS on its users. I use maybe 200 different apps, and this one wins the biggest fail competition, hands down. It’s almost entertaining to see what will show up and what won’t.

All I can say is, DON’T BUY SONOS! It’ll take a much better app and maybe a year of solid service for me to trust the company again to change my mind. Having just remodeled my kitchen and living room, I had planned to invest several more Sonos speakers, maybe some Fives and a sub, but may need to consider ditching my current system for Bluesound, Denon, and others. So sad. ,sigh.]

Not there for me.

Seems in 80.2 app the sleep timer is not available for local library or line in from port.  Come on Sonos get it together so we can enjoy using your products again.

I want to echo Wgs56’s message. This is so random and frustrating.

Why would we not be allowed to set sleep timers while listening from our local library?!
