I was pleased to discover yesterday that the functionality to mute individual rooms (products) had been reinstated.  I tend to have all my products grouped together and mute and unmute them as I move around the house, as it’s easier than constantly grouping and ungrouping rooms.

I’ve been experimenting with it today and it is completely useless, because whenever I change the group volume it automatically unmutes every product (unlike on the old app).

How could anybody think that this is the desired behaviour?  Isn’t there anybody left at SONOS with a brain?

Yes! Absolutely useless! The individual mutes (per speaker) are reached through a group mute (tiny speaker icon) located to the left of the group volume slider for a specific group. In addition to the poor functionality described by DunkirkPie, the individual mute function shouldn’t even be here. It belongs in the “Speaker name +n” sub tab where the individual speaker volume controls are located as it was before the the upgrade debacle. Speaker name, volume slide, mute button. Period! I need to go someplace else to mute a speaker? Really? Another example that Sonos has still not learned from it’s mistake. This has been going on for more than four months. They just can’t fix it! Why is the CEO still there?
