Hi…

here‘s something I found today on DE community. A User was reporting the following.
(translation used)

„While a track (Spotify) is running, I can no longer access Song Radio. Always comes: Connection to Spotify was disconnected????

I then have to switch to the Spotify app, the title Search there and then start the song Radio. Then it works.

But it's cumbersome and it used to work via the Sonos app 🤔

 

I have carried out further tests and can now say with a high probability that it is probably a current bug of the Sonos function "Title Radio", which is implemented by some services.
I tested it with Deezer and Spotify each via the current versions of the Sonos app for iOS and Android.

Result with Sonos App on iOS:

- Title Radio works with Spotify

- Title Radio does not work with Deezer

Result with Sonos App on Android:

- Title Radio does not work with Spotify

- Title Radio does not work with Deezer

 

With Spotify on Android I get the same error message as the user mentioned above.

With Deezer, Android and iOS app tries to start a title radio stream, but several title covers follow in a row and no title is started until a Wifi error message is shown after some seconds. 
Just to add… there isn’t any wifi issue at all.


Can someone reproduce that?

I think there maybe a general issue, because Deezer also uses the track radio option and is affected. And as I wrote there seems to be a difference between iOS and Android app for at least using Spotify. 
 

So the latest information might help identifying an issue and I also pointed to this thread here in the other one. 


I just tested Spotify with Android and got the same error.  It worked immediately when using an iOS device.

I don’t have Deezer, so unable to verify that.


I talked to Sonos L2 support and they were able to reproduce the problem. They now are aware of it and will do further investigation. 
At the moment Sonos Android app seems to produce an error when initiating a song radio mix with different services that support that option. 
Deezer also produces an error using iOS app or desktop controller. 
So possible workarounds at the moment are:

  • for Deezer… Airplay or Bluetooth to Sonos speaker
  • for other services… iOS app, desktop controller, Airplay or Bluetooth 

Same issue here for quite a while. Contacted support couple of weeks ago. They made it out to be a user issue or something. Didn't understand what i was trying to do. Very annoying.

Maybe some weeks ago when you called support they weren’t aware of the issue, but as you can read in my last post they now are investigating and working on it. 


Any updates on this one?
