Is anyone in Sonos support aware of the following intermittent AirPlay bug that has been introduced as of iOS 26.2? There appear to be quite a few people experiencing it, including me on two independent, physically disjoint Sonos systems.

While it is likely to be a bug introduced on the Apple side of the connection, with networking you never know for sure, so perhaps Sonos support should reach out to Apple about it.

If so, posting here is unlikely to generate that response, as Sonos Support doesn’t ‘live’ in these forums, only the public and the very few Sonos moderators. You’re much better off submitting a diagnostic, and then calling in to talk with support…but you’re even better off calling Apple, since they seem to have introduced the bug with iOS 26.2.

Just as a further comment, Sonos doesn’t ‘pay’ any fees to Apple. Apple is more likely listen to you, as a potential paying customer than they are to listen to anyone from Sonos. That depends on both sides of the call, of course, but the weight of a paying customer’s comments often holds more ‘oomph’ than just a distribution network.

Thanks for the reply. You are probably right, but hope springs eternal. 😀 When I once managed a global support team for a large software vendor, customer feedback and experience in forums was gold, but I guess times have changed.

I can understand hope ;)

Having dealt with support in various guises in games, I ‘get’ your thoughts.

Yep, same here. Today I’ve swapped over to the YouTube Music app on my iPhone and I’m streaming from that to my Sonos speakers (so still have lock screen controls etc like when using AirPlay with Apple Music) and I haven’t had a single blip. Yesterday things either just wouldn't work or I would get ‘silent’ tracks (appear to be playing, seconds counting up etc, but no sound). I’m already a YouTube Premium subscriber but don’t normally use their music service, but will do now until this gets resolved (or maybe even stick with Youtube).

Thanks for sharing this. I’ve noticed similar behaviour discussed here before, and it does seem to vary depending on setup and usage. Hopefully future updates improve consistency.

Hello Everybody,

First I whish you an Happy New Year for 2026.

Then I have the same problem like you on my Sonos system, I use Apple Music in AirPlay and sometimes the music track continues to read but without sound from the Era 300. Solution but a little frustrating > forward or rewind.

My WiFi system is stable, IP addresses dedicated for the Sonos players, an iPad only use for the Sonos system.

I have posted a feedback on Apple website, section Apple Music.

Kind regards.

It may also help if you were to submit a system diagnostic within 10 minutes of experiencing this problem, and call Sonos Support to discuss it. Don’t post the resulting diagnostic number here, their lawyers get sensitive about GDPR. While anecdotal reports may be helpful, hard data that can be investigated more thoroughly might be more helpful.

There may be information included in the diagnostic that will help Sonos pinpoint the issue and help you find a solution.

When you speak directly to the Support staff, they have tools at their disposal that will allow them to give you advice specific to your network and Sonos system

Hi there,

For the sake of sanity for anyone else experiencing this, I am having the issue too.  Other members on my network who hadn’t upgraded to IOS 26.2 don’t have the issue.  Pretty much renders the system pointless which is awful.

For what it’s worth I logged a call on Apple’s support.

Good to have creative responses.  I’ve ended up using bluetooth to my closest speaker as a temp measure but that’s not going to fly in the longer term.

Hope this gets sorted but haven’t seen too much noise on Apple forums which is surprising.

Hold thumbs….

I’m having the same issue. I’ve reported it to Apple since beta testing 26.2 and no fix yet. I did receive a message from Apple saying this was fixed in the latest update (my guess 26.3 beta which I am testing) but the issue still not resolved.

Same issue here. Every track change goes silent. Move 2 w/ Apple Music. Very frustrating.
