Imported Playlist on Android will not add or play

I can't add Imported Playlists to the queue in the Android app from my Music Library.  This was working previously in the Android app.  Doing the same Imported Playlist in the Windows version of Sonos app is working without issue so it is not an issue with the Playlist.

The Android app can see the tracks in the playlist, but if I click on the play or shuffle icon it just spins away doing nothing.

If I try to add or replace the queue with the tracks from the playlist it just spins.

If I click on the three dots next to.the track and select Play Now, the track plays.

This is broken for even Imported Playlists with 1 track.

Is this a known issue that's been broken in a recent app update? I have searched but can't see anything about imported playlists broken on Android recently.

Android App Version:  83.01.9

As update, I reached out to Sonos support where the AI support chat ran through all the basics, but it did not resolve. Transferred to a person, where I was told to update my Music Library which didn’t resolve.  I explained this is a bug but was told by Sonos Support agent that this feature is not available in the Android and the IOS mobile app.  I mentioned this was a previous feature so either it was deprecated without notice or its a bug.  I was told to just use the Windows desktop app to manage imported playlists.

I’ve paid for “Phonos Ultimate” which is an Android alternative to the native Sonos Android app.  I can add Imported Playlists without issue on Android with it.

I can't test that here but you could run through the steps and submit a diagnostic. You need to do it all in under about 10 minutes to capture the logging data. Once submitted call Sonos when convenient.

Just tried this, same app version on Android 16 with .m3u playlist(s).

Not really of help for you I know but I am not seeing the issue you report...

Thank you both for quick response.  For clarification, I am using the single “iTunes Music Library.xml” for playlists.  I have the diagnostic ready and will call Sonos.

Better to have M3U playlists.  I have read somewhere .xml playlists don’t work in the mobile app.  My playlists have always been M3U and work fine.

I suddenly also have the same issue with the Sonos app on my iPhone. Assume it’s due to the last update

Hello,

Exactly same problem here, as chrisjmcgregor perfectly well described.
In addition, it is not possible to remove library path from the iOS app. It works from Windows app.
And also, I can start a playlist from Home Assistant

Unfortunately, your feedback from Sonos doesn't surprise me. There answers are always same. I don't believe that Sonos is going to the right direction

Spent most of a week trying to get my playlists to load, looks like we’re back in the bad old days with programming not being tested before release, when will they learn or is it just a ploy to try and make us sign up to pay services?

I have the same problem with the app on Android and iPad.  I cannot play iTunes playlists on either.  I can see the contents of the playlist and play single songs but not the whole playlist.  This is a new (recent) issue.  I can still play playlists from the Windows desktop controller.  I am assuming my playlists are stored as standard iTunes playlists.

I am able to play Apple Music playlists from the integrated Apple Music service in the IOS app.  They are playlists created using tracks from the Apple Music streaming library.  Are your playlists created using your own files or those in the Apple Music streaming library?

Apparently it’s a bug, again, in the latest app it’s hanging when loading from a playlist imported from iTunes Music Library.xml just get the circle of death, can play 1 tune at a time from the list but not the playlist, here we go again……

I chatted with Tech Support and they confirmed it as a known issue.

“I would like to explain to
you that this issue has been reported, and we're
currently experiencing this issue due to local/
systematic failures. We're currently working on a
fix and doing our best to solve as soon as possible
. For now, I have to tag this case as one of the
affected, but yes, it's in general.”

My current workaround is to access the playlist from the desktop controller and open it to the desired speaker(s).  It then shows up on my Android app and is accessible - can play/pause/skip the songs.  It also works from the Sonopad app on iPad.

Same issue here on iPhone and iPad.

Another case of poor release testing.
