After every two or three songs (on Apple Music+ in the Sonos app) the Atmos badge still disappears around 20 seconds into the song. The music reverts to normal stereo.
I have frequently called customer service and gone through all the diagnostic steps, restarting etc. I also created a topic on this community page. Sadly after more than 6 months nothing has changed. The topic was even closed for further discussion. I know there are quite a few other Sonos owners with exactly the same problem, and wonder when there finally will be a solution to this extremely irritating and embarassing (when friends come over) situation.

 

Is this one device, or a group?

It uses adaptive streaming, so if the connection speed (Apple→coordinator or coordinator→others in the group) drops below a particular amount them it will fallback to stereo.

Check your device matrix to see if your device(s) have a lot of interference, and check your router pages to see the speeds the devices are actually achieving.

The confirmed issue is likely still unresolved if you are still experiencing it.

We are aware of an issue whereby Home Theatre products will cease to display the Atmos badge and start playing in a lower quality, after a time.

We are investigating, but have no estimate for when a fix might be put in place. I will update this thread when I hear of a fix being put in place.
