Any ideas why I cannnot operate sobos system on iphone 16 pro max with ios 18? The app does not find arc, era300, sub. After reinstalling the app and rebooting the sonos system to the default nothing changes. Creating new system helps nothing because the app does not see any the equipment even after unplugging (although in the app it is written it should). Any solution because now I cannot control any of the products ?

Im actually on the phone with them right now, and nothing! I also have iPhone 16pro max. Been on the phone an hour with them. No results. This is ridiculous.

Odd. I’m running iOS 18.1 and the latest version of the S2 app, on two iPads, and an iPhone 16, with no issues. I wonder if there’s something odd about the iPhone 16 pro max, although I haven’t seen any other issues reported beyond yours, which leads me inevitably to the thought that the issue is local, and not necessarily endemic to the Sonos app.

I have 16 pro and kust test again and it not works. I try to start a Tunein radio, nothing happens. Same with Spotify. If I test on the Ipad or the Mac it works fine

Maybe I should try the S2 app

This is typical Sonos software total incompetency. My wife bought a new iPhone 16 Pro Max, and there were some software issues as expected but nothing compared to total non-functionality of Sonos S2. It could not find our system at all. So I just turned to using my phone that was recently updated to iOS 18, and Sonos S2 still worked, tho I never got around to liking the new version.
As I was searching on internet for why Sonos was not working on the iPhone 16, I found someone recommending the app SonoPhone, with rave reviews.
I am usually suspect of third-party apps like this but my frustration level with the Sonos app had reached a point where I went ahead and tried it.
WHILE I was listening to the Sonos app thru my phone, I downloaded SonoPhone, opened it, and it took immediate control of the music while I was playing it, seamlessly!

I could not believe it, but it not only did that, but the interface is maybe not as pretty but so so much more intuitive and efficient!

Sonos makes great hardware based on a good concept, but their app software SUCKS big time. They should fire their entire app dev group and hire the SonoPhone staff wholesale!

Hello. Since 10 days all my Sonos speakers can’t play Spotify via Wifi (Netgear Orbi mesh) and stream Spotify via Airplay. I have been in contact with Sonos support 5 times and yesterday they said that there has been a lot of users with the same problem. I have also been in contact with Spotify and they were not aware of the issue? I have updated all devises, re-installed Spotify and Sonos and done everything the supports have asked me to do. The only thing which is working is Sonos Radio and other music services but not Spotify.

I told Sonos support to put this as an issue so other users could be aware of this enoying issue. But not seen anything posted. I guess they prefer of spending hours of support of people like me contacting them instead…

Tried on old and newest IPhones and MacAir but same problem...

Hi

for me it works fine with Ipad with IOS 18.1.1 and Macbook Air, but not working on my Iphone 16 pro with IOS 18.1.1.

I’m dealing with the same issue. Wife and I both upgraded to IPhone 16 Pro Max and now we cannot control our Sonos system. Works fine on my daughters older phones and on my IPad. Really need the Sonos engineers to figure this out and deploy a fix asap. Spending over an hour on the line with support, and not have the problem resolved, was an absolute waste of my time and life, that I’ll never get back! Come on Sonos!

Same thing here. Plays 1 or 2 songs then completely goes dark. Hate Sonos. Wish I had never spent the money on these speakers. Have tried all the “fixes” and still a terribly unreliable system. I’m so surprised that a company that has a selling point of excellent wireless sound is so terrible and unprepared with updates and upgrades. The app is a mess. It’s quite embarrassing when entertaining or just wanting to hear quality sound from a music source that used to work fine. So disappointing. Will never recommend to anyone.

Works on my old devices, but not on iPhones 16. using unbiquity dreammachine as router. Reboot didn’t solve the issue.

same setup and problems

Same issue here . i'll test your reset all solution.

Routers contains cache memory about connected device.  Also Since Iphone backup/ restore approach may confused the router … about our iphone device  name/id/ip/mac address. etc.

ressering router would clear that cache and effectivly resolve ,, good catch …

Thanks for your post.
